Rosalie Edge Motive

The DDT that Hachtman uses during landscaping was supposedly killing Hawks.

Alibi

She was with Rachel Carson

Rosalie Edge was the creator of Hawk Mountain. She did not like the careless conservation tactics that the National Audubon Society was using to protect some species of birds. She sued the Audubon Society for their member list and distributed Emergency Conservation Committee articles revealing these careless acts. She then moved on to stop the killing of birds of pray. She formed the Hawk Mountain Society because Hawk Mountain was the sight of many hawk deaths caused by hunters. Mrs. Edge and her son

revealed the horrifying pictures of the dead and dyeing hawks to the world. The following year Edge leased Hawk Mountain turning it into a sanctuary. Then the subsequent year, 1935, Rosalie Edge purchased the 1500 acres of Hawk Mountain for 3500 dollars.

to it

Carl LinnaeusKnown as the “Father of

Taxonomy”Developed binomial

nomenclatureWrote Systema Natural

Motive: Hachtman refused to teach binomial nomenclature and insisted that his students memorize trinomial nomenclature

Alibi: On the Appalachian trail in Bangor classifying different species of salamanders
