Embedded Technology is now in its prime and the wealth of knowledge available is mind blowing. An embedded system is a one that has computer hardware with software embedded in it as one of its most important components, with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints.

Home automation is one of the major growing industries that can change the way people live. Wireless home automatic system (WHAS) is to provide those with special needs with a systems that can respond to voice commands and controls the ON/OFF status of electrical devices, such as lamps, fans, television etc., in the home.

REAL TIME OPERATING SYSTEM(RTOS)

The uppermost layer is the application layer. In-between, there are other layers which maycomprise components like device drivers and communication protocols. A special genre of operating systems known as the real-time operating system (RTOS) is usually cater to the deadline-driven requirements of an embedded system.

Touch screen is an electronic visual device. It refers to touching the display on the device with finger or hand.There are different types of touch screen is there in this project capacitive touch screen technology is used. This is for aged peoples and bed patients they are struggling to get up and switch ON or OFF electrical device. For these small work they need others help while using this project by touching and giving voice command we can control the home appliances, without struggling they can do their work.

ZIGBEE

Zigbee is a consortium of more than 200 major players seeking to tap into the potential billion-dollar market of wireless sensor networks. Zigbee protocol are intended for use in embedded applications required low data rate and low power consumption. zigbee’s current focus is defined as general purpose, inexpensive, self organized mesh network is used for home automation system.

In another method we can use this zigbee as by fixing this in the bottom of the apartment . By touching and giving voice command we can control the home appliances which is in the 3rd or 4th flour of the apartment. These are the home appliances which can controlled by zigbee. Such as lamp, fan, television, washing machine etc., in the home.

Samsung is busy now with producing the flexible display samsung galaxy s4. we can use this flexibly by folding, bending and curving it. The new technology would mean that users can bend the screen concavely or convexly to adjust the zoom levels.

"The 3D Air-Touch system in mobile devices can offer non-contact finger detection and limited viewpoint for operating on a floating image, which can be applied to 3D games, Because of the small size and portable nature of mobile devices, implementing a 3D system on these devices is different from 3D systems used on TVs and other large screens.

IoT benefits of embedded systems

The IoT market is surging and industry leaders predict there will be more than 15billion nodes by 2015. According to the GSM Alliance, a quarter of these devices will be mobile handsets and personal computers. The rest will be autonomous devices that will communicate with other machines without user interaction – M2M. M2M communication is on the rise, enabling connected devices to exchange and act upon information without human involvement. M2M technology is opening new markets, enabling devices in our homes, offices and factories to communicate with each other to provide comfort, convenience and security.

CONCLUSIONAs the technology grows day by day, we can imagine about the future in which thing we may occupy every place. The proposed system based on Atmel and PIC microcontroller is found to be more compact, user friendly and less complex, which can readily be used in order to perform. So, it might be possible for instance, to have the RTOS, storage areas or other special software in the cloud and have the embedded applications access them through internet connectivity. It is always going to be smaller, faster, and superior in the embedded world!
