We are a non-profit inclusive social club whose purpose is to bring together like-minded folks infused with the tropical spirit of
Jimmy Buffett as well as his kick-back lifestyle, music and writings. We desire to leave things a little better than we found them while having a BLAST doing it. We like to party with a
purpose as we perform community service projects and donate to charities.

The St. Somewhere Times Route 66 PHC PresidentPHins up from the Prez Donnie Kerksieck [email protected]
Hello Parrot Heads,I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas. It has been another outstanding year for the Route 66 Parrot Head Club and its members. We have been a part of a lot of great things this year with a lot of terrific friends. I owe these experiences to our board members and members, we have a lot of new members that feel like they have been there all along, that support our club.
As the club president this has been a tremendous year for personal growth and I am looking forward to another great year with everyone!
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. John F. Kennedy
Sincerely,Donnie Kerksieck

October 23, 2016 MoDot Adopt A Highway Trash PickupThis Route 66 Parrot Head group picked up trash along their Adopt-A-Highway area from Skippy's to past Belmont. Interesting finds: a Dutch oven with food in it, an animal jaw-bone, a tank off a purple Seadoo, and a 1928 graduation program/photo.

November 9, 2016 Route 66 Parrot Head Club P O Box 426 Sullivan, MO 63080 (314) 578-1435 PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Route 66 Parrot Heads donate to CASA On Saturday, November 4, 2016, the Route 66 Parrot Head Club presented checks totaling $3900 to Franklin County CASA and Mid Ozark CASA. Franklin County CASA was represented by Glenda Volmert, Executive Director along with Marcela Rice (who is also a Route 66 PHC member). Mid Ozark CASA was represented by Mary Heywood, Program Director along with Janet Jones and Vickie Gorsuch. The proceeds for this donation was made possible by a benefit hosted by Tim Davis and Mona Lorne on July 31st held at their river paradise home. They donated not only their property but river floats, auction items, fireworks. Both worked tirelessly at making this a success. Dinner was catered by the one and only Pappy’s Smokehouse, music by Terry Beck (donated by Crys Warren and Mike Baetz)… all this followed by a spectacular fireworks display by our hosts. Tim’s daughter, Carli Erin, was relentless is collecting items for the ticket auction. Carli’s hard work paid off as she secured donations from Pappy’s Smokehouse, Bonefish Grill, Syberg’s Restaurant, Sugo’s Spaghetteria, Tully’s Taproom, etc. Additional donations for auction included Galaxy Think Pad (American Family Insurance/Tim Davis), Samsung Smart Cam (American Family Insurance/Tim Davis), Bose Sound System (American Family Insurance/Tim Davis), Yadi Painting (Tony Zahn), Blue Hockey Tickets (Mike & Robin Adkins) and Custom Stain Glass Window (Indian Creek Gallery/Jack & Sue Wilhite). Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers are trained to speak up for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the courts. They are appointed by a judge to review records, research information and talk to everyone involved in a child’s case, making sure the child remains safe, until a permanent resolution is reached. The Route 66 Parrot Head Club is sanctioned by the Parrot Heads In Paradise international organization. They are a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization whose purposes are to provide a variety of social activities while volunteering and giving back to their surrounding communities. From 2012 through 2015, they have raised over $43,000 in monies and goods for local charities. To learn more about this organization, visit them online at www.route66parrotheads.com. Get to Know a Trop-Rock Musician
Jimmy Parrish
A native Floridian and long-time Jacksonville resident, Jimmy’s been performing both as a solo act and with his band for nearly thirty years. After forming the Ocean Waves Band in 2000, his goal was to entertain audiences throughout the southeast with an island style tropical vibe.
Armed with a combination of acoustic rock heavily influenced by the music of Jimmy Buffett, along with his love for the ocean and his time spent in the islands, Jimmy helped pave the way for what would be an up-and-coming musical genre now known as Trop Rock’.
In 2008, Kenny Chesneys management group hosted a nationwide contest to find the Next Big Star, which Jimmy and his band won in the northeast Florida region.
As a result, they were awarded the opportunity to open for Chesney at the Jacksonville Memorial Arena later that year. It was quite a thrill indeed, Jimmy boasts. “We got to play rock stars for a night in front of nearly 15,000 people!”
Awards & PerformancesThe music of Jimmy and his band has grown greatly in popularity in recent years. With the release of their fourth CD, I Need a New Island, they’ve established themselves as one of the more well-known acts in the Trop Rock nation. In recent years, Jimmy Parrish & The Waves have headlined many of the larger Trop Rock events in the country. They were awarded the Trop Rock Music Assoc. Horizon Award, and nominated in three more categories including Band of the Year, Album of the Year, and Musician of the Year.
Performing at nearly 200 events each year, Jimmy continues to headline festivals and Parrot Head events, perform at major resorts, beachside tiki bars, corporate functions, and clubs throughout the U.S. Armed with a significant and loyal following, you can expect to hear high-energy island-style covers by artists like Ken-ny Chesney, Zac Brown, Bob Marley, of course tons of Buffett, both popular and obscure, and a long list of creative originals peppered in throughout the shows.
