DEVELOPING YOUR

PROPOSAL (6 Hours)

In this session participants will develop their action research proposal. They will be shown an example of an action research proposal sample to show the sections of a proposal.

Activity 1: Reviewing a sample AR proposal.

1. CP are given a sample action research proposal. (see appendix below) Trainer asks CPs to pay attention to the sections in a research proposal plan.

These sections would include:

i. Research Backgroundii. Research rationaleiii. Research questionsiv. Research Design v. Data gathering procedures

2. A plenary discussion is held based on the sample proposal.

Activity 2: Working on proposal.

1. CPs are regrouped according to those who have similar topics for research. The idea for such grouping is so that CP s can discuss on the topic.

2. CPs now prepare their own proposals based on their specific research questions. Trainer provides supervision while CPs work on their proposals.

3. A draft of the proposal plan should be complete by the end of the 6 hours.
