Qvoice Companion

Qvoice is used primarily for network optimization & benchmarking operations for which the resource of a notebook pc are sufficient up to 4 measurement Channel can be used.

Speech measurements with perceptual evaluation of speech quality(p.862 according to ITU) are also possible by using MIAs(Measurement Interface Adapters) for the measurement Channels.

Channel: A channel is used for measuring speech/data quality via one mobile phone(or one ISDN Channel/one PSTN line)

Master & Slave: The master always the first call & controls the measurement. With Qvoice each measurement Channel can be configured as a Master or as a Slave. Master & Slave must be equipped with a DSP

Measurement Principle

The following terms refer to the Master: MOC: The master makes the call MTC: The master is called by the slave UPLINK: The master transmits speech

samples (measured at the slave) DOWNLINK: The master receives speech

samples The measurement procedure is always controlled by the master

Measurement Principle

Maximum call duration: After 10 hours of measurement operation Qvoice stops all measurements & then starts up again using the same measurement parameters. The size of the measurement files will be limited & the time re-transmitted to the slaves.
