Posterous.com is a free blogging platform aimed at users who want to share their content easily and fast or who wish to collaborate in groups.

Users can post by simple e-mail messages from their inbox, mobile app or via browser.

Posterous supports various media files and makes posting really easy.

Posts can be automatically aggregated to various, pre-defined social media networks.

Dashboard Very easy to use dashboard contains list of posts (with option to edit, delete or autopost and with basic stats), pages, people (place to add contributors), autoposting settings and main blog settings.

It also contains posting area with e-mail address of the blog. All e-mail messages sent to this address will appear as blog posts providing you are added to the blog as a contributor.

If you choose to post in the browser, you will be taken to a basic, very simple blog post edition page.

You can add the title of your post and text in the body below.

Mark the text you want to edit and use the basic text editing options.

To add a link mark the text you want to link from, click on the link icon and attach the URL in a separate window.

To add HTML code (for example a YouTube video), copy the original HTML code, change the view of your blog post to “Edit HTML Source”,…

…paste in the original HTML code and go back to the original view.

To upload any type of media content (here we use photos) go to the “media” section of your screen and choose “upload” option.

Choose the media you want to use from location on your computer.

You will see a status bar for each of your media files and will still have the option to delete them here, if you change your mind.

Before you publish your post check it’s options: 1.  Tags, 2.  Date of your post, 3.  Blog you are posting on (Posterous

allows more than one blog), 4.  Privacy, 5.  Autoposting settings.

Dashboard

You can still easily access editing of your posts later – from the level of your dashboard. To preview your blog, click on its title.
