Usage GuideQUICK-PREP™ Urinalysis KitInstructions for Use:
1. Add 10mL of urine to a 12mL Quick-Prep collectiontube and affix stopper. (Figure 1)
2. Centrifuge for 5 minutes at 1500 RPM. (Figure 2)
3. Insert the Quick-Prep transfer pipet into the tube. Note: the pipet tip needs to be completelyinserted into the base of the tubesecuring the bulb-like barrier in place.(Figure 3)
4. Holding the top portion of the pipetsecurely, bend the flexible pipet againstthe tube opening and decant 9mL of thesupernate. The bulb-like barrier allows1mL of sediment to remain in the tube.(Figure 4) (If preferred, add one drop ofurine sediment stain to the residual urinesediment to assist in identification of theurinary cellular elements. Remix sedimentusing the pipet.)
5. Draw up the well-mixed sediment usingthe Quick-Prep transfer pipet. Place a dropof sediment into the scalloped area of anumbered chamber on the Quick-ReadPrecision Cell slide. The sediment will bedrawn into the viewing chamber by capillaryaction and be uniformly distributed. (Figure 5)
6. Refer to the Quick-Read Precision Cell documentation fordetailed information about the microscopic examination ofurinary sediment.
