Quick News March 23, 2015 Superintendent’s Message John P. Kronour, Ph.D. The Tippecanoe Educational Endowment proudly sponsors the annual Teacher of the Year award. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the exceptional contributions made by a current, certified classroom teacher from Tipp City Schools. Parents, students, community members, and colleagues are encouraged to nominate a teacher who provides exemplary service and dedication to our students and community, serves as a role model, and demonstrates accomplishments that distinguish him or her among peers. Go to http://www.tippcityschools.com/Page/5507 for a nomination form and additional information. TEE will announce all nominees and award the 2015 Teacher of the Year at the year-end staff recognition event on May 29, 2015. THS Student Makes Another Musical Debut Congratulations to Tippecanoe High School junior Luke Becker on being selected to perform with the Bands of America National Honor Band in Indianapolis. Luke was required to perform an extensive video audition to be considered for the group. Luke was one of only five Ohio students in the ensemble that included musicians from throughout the United States. The ensemble world-premiered a piece of music by world-renowned composer John Mackey. Mackey was present at the ensemble rehearsals and helped explain the music and composition to the students as they learned the piece. It was an educational and amazing experience for those involved. Luke adds this accomplishment to his already impressive resume, being a 2- time Ohio All-State Band member and multiple year member of the Springfield Youth Symphony. He also performed with the Tri-state Honor Band, OMEA District Honor Band and Bowling Green University Honor Band. In the photo to the right are composer John Mackey and Luke.
