Sunny and breezy for most of the year, it is a land of volcanic peaks, wooded valleys, beautiful waterfalls and hot springs, and national parks and wildlife refuges rich in flora and fauna, where you can enjoy beaches, bird watching, horseback riding and admire the Guanacaste and Tilarán mountain ranges. Whether you visit during the dry or the rainy season, both provide great advantages. Guanacaste is a land of culture and folklore, cattle ranches, dark-skinned local cowboys, and picturesque towns. The Gulf of Papagayo, another well-known region, comprises the area between Ocotal Beach and the Papagayo Peninsula. Here you will find the Four Seasons Resort and the upbeat towns of Coco Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Panama Beach, as well as the Hilton Papagayo hotel. The surroundings of Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park combine tropical dry forest, waterfalls and volcanic activity. The area is well known by bubbling mud pots, little geysers, hot springs and a whole host of wildlife.

From November to April, the province gets almost no rain and the sun hits hard, however, cool winds from the north lower the temperatures pleasantly along the coast from December to February. From May to October, the warm weather remains, but accompanied by occasional rain, usually in the afternoon. Dry season in Guanacaste is longer than elsewhere in Costa Rica.

PURA VIDA!! Costa Rica, The Happiest Place on Earth

According to a survey developed by a non-governmental British group that devised an equation to measure people’s life expectancy and happiness against their environmental impact, Costa Rica is the happiest place on earth and one of the most environmentally friendly.

“Pura vida!” is a life style, an expression that conveys the state of happiness, greeting, appreciation, peace and freedom of the TICOS. Costa Ricans are known as “TICOS”. We strive to be kind people; we love social values; family and friends the most important ties in our lives
