READ CAREFULLY The assignment, in MS Word, is not to exceed 10 pages/sheets:

1. Use the font Verdana (font size 11) for text, and Broadway (font size 15) for

titles and sub titles; 2. All text must be in black; 3. Titles and subtitles must be in bold; 4. The main title must use double underline; 5. Use line spacing 1.5, justified (right and left), with margin of .5” (top, bottom, right &

left); 6. All your references must be included as endnotes;

7. Do not copy/plagiarize; learn to write (summarize) in your own words; 8. Nothing should be hand written; 9. The assignment should be in a file cover; 10. Soft copy of this assignment should reach latest by Thursday 06 March 2014

1. What types of printers are most common today? What is the cost of a color

printer versus a black-and-white one? Compare and contrast laser and inkjet

printers in terms of speed, cost, and quality output. What kind of printer would you buy or have you bought?

2. What happens when a computer runs out of RAM? Can more RAM be added?

Is there a limit? How does cache memory relate to RAM? Why is RAM so important in today’s modern information systems world? Search the Web for

different type of RAM available at retailers. Compare their prices and options.

3. Search the Web for organizations that specialize in creating customized

software applications for their clients. What specific product categories do these organizations specialize in, if any? Were you able to find any pricing

information directly from their homepages?

4. Back in the 1970s, rockets were sent to the moon with the amount of computing power found in today’s microcomputers. Now, these

microcomputers seem to be outdating themselves every two years. Will this

era of continuous improvement end? Why or why not? If so, when?
