I conducted research to help give me and my group a good understanding of what our film should be about, it covered areas like location, time and weather. I asked 20 people 9 questions. In this PowerPoint I will shown my results and the analysis.

There are many different avenues open to a director when planning an opening scene to a thriller film, here we can see possible choices have been selected and those questioned felt that a dark ally ways more symbolic to an opening to a thriller film and fits well with conventions of a thriller.

Only 35% of the people wanted the film to be shot in black and white this may have been because there have been some successful thriller films that have been shot in black and white for example psycho. 65% thought that it would be better if it was shot normally and .

The perception of the people questioned believed that the music most suited the genre of a thriller was a jumpy sound track that had a fast tempo, theses are the type of soundtracks are traditionally linked with thrillers.

Although that the film is a thriller they think that the film should contain comedic elements this may be to give the film a light hearted feel.

What Went Well..

• The data I collected was fast and it was fairly cheap it did not take that much time to create, it was also fairly simple to give out to people.

• As all of the data has been quantitive, it can be used to compare and contrast with data that has been collected from the rest of my group members.

• It has a high level of validity because as it is anonymous people will not have to lie about there feelings.

Even Better If... • Although it was anonymous there is no way to tell how

truthful a respondent is being.• There is no way of telling how much thought a

respondent has put in, they may have just rushed it.• The data received is only quantitive and not qualitive this

means that the data will only show what the researcher is wanting to find out, rapport (a good relationship) can not be built with the people who participated in my questionnaire.
