Question 1

Are you male or female?-Male= 45.45%-Female= 54.55%

Due to my magazine now being more directly focused towards the female gender, I should incorporate ideas that would appeal to them. However I also need to make sure I am very detailed when picking ideas for the male gender so my magazine is balanced and not biased to one gender.

Question 1

Question 11

Would you like there to be competitions and prizes in a magazine? Yes= 81.82% No= 18.18%

This was an idea I already wanted to add in as an incentive to help make people want to read the magazine.

Page 13: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 12

Do you have any magazine subscriptions? Yes= 18.18% No= 81.82%

This links back to the idea of social media and website links as more people don’t subscribe to magazines due to that information being accessible on the internet.

Page 14: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 13

Would you read online magazines? Yes= 78.79% No= 21.21%

This brings me back to my before mentioned point about whether or not people use social media or the internet to read magazines. So it makes sense to add links to these so people can read the magazine whenever.

In a music magazine would you expect larger or smaller font for the main text? Larger= 63.64% Smaller= 36.36%

Question 15

Should front covers of music magazines use musical instruments? Yes= 57.58% No= 42.42%

My front cover will most likely contain a musical instrument as I believe it is a signature indicator of a music magazine according to the people who answered the questionnaire.

Page 17: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 16

Would you prefer more text or more images in a music magazine? More text= 39.39% More images= 60.61%

My magazine will be more text based as I prefer to read the articles rather than be bombarded with images across the pages. Even though a larger portion of people prefer more images and less text.

Page 18: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 17

In a music magazine would you like to hear about new bands or about more well-known bands? New bands= 15.15% Well-known bands= 6.06% Both= 78.79%

In my articles I am going to include both well-known and unknown bands as this a common part within indie music magazines. Also it makes the magazine seem more interesting as it doesn’t just stick to mainstream artists.

Page 19: Questionnaire analysis 1

Page 20: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 19

Would you expect the main image for the front cover of a music magazine to be famous? Yes= 42.42% No= 6.06% Don't mind= 51.52%

The front cover of my magazine will not be of a famous person as it helps spark interest in the reader as they want to know who it is? and why they are on the cover?

Page 21: Questionnaire analysis 1

Question 20

How often would you say you listen to Indie music? Never= 24.24% 1-2 times a week= 21.21% 3-4 times a weeks= 21.21% 5+ times per week= 33.33%

This question was just to gauge how popular Indie music is with people. In hindsight it doesn’t help with the production of my magazine very much.
