In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My Front Cover Professional Front CoverI am pleased with my final front cover and I think that it uses a lot of conventions that are found

in real music magazine front covers. The first of these is that my masthead is very large and boldwhich represents the rock genre well, and is similar to the kerrang masthead. I also used a lot of cover lines, including a lure telling the customer about a free plectrum inside. Lures are used a lotIn professional front covers to grab the readers attention and make them want to buy the magazine.I also thought that it was important to make sure that there are more pictures other than the mainBackground one to give the reader a preview of what is inside.

I am very happy with my contents page as I think that it looks very professional, mainly becauseit uses a lot of conventions that professional media products do. The first of these is that generallythroughout my magazine I used the colour red a lot as it is important to have a good house style and that the pages don’t look like they are from separate publications. I also tried to keep a wellorganised layout to make it as easy as possible for the reader to understand.

My DPS Professional DPS

I used a lot of professional DPS conventions to make sure that mine looked as good as possible. The first of these is that it is important to have a clear title so the reader can easily tell what the article is about. I also made sure that the main body of text stood out easily against the background so I used a paper effect which worked out quite well. I also made sure that I put clear page numbers in the corners as this is essential for all professional magazines.
