CONSIDER THE FIGURES*CSG production has grown at a compounded annual growth rate of 22.5% over the period 2006 to 2012. However, the commencement of operations of the four large CSG-LNG projects in Queensland (2014-17) is likely to see a massive increase in total production levels moving forward.

The upstream workforce is expected to peak in 2024 at ~14,100 workers.

LNG exports have grown by 8% per annum over the past five years. In 2012, around 79% of Australia’s LNG exports were sold to Japan and 16% to China.

The number of wells are projected to grow from 1,700 drilled in 2014 to 2,400 wells drilled in each year over the period 2017-23.
