PROJECTED TRAFFIC COUNTSOff RampThe southbound peak hour could be as much as 3,000 cars per hour on full buildout, with about 2/3 using Laura Ave. Northbound would be lower at about 200-300 cars per hour.

Leva AveThe traffic analysis summary: Southbound is estimated at 769 cars per hour through, and 100 into the site with a left turn for the peak hour. There are only 47 cars northbound through and 96 northbound right turn in. The estimated delay for the south left turn in is only 8 seconds, which is very good. The 95th percentile queue is only a fraction of a car long, which means typically there will not even be two cars there at the same time.

Costco is the biggest traffic generator to date

QE11Highway 2/QEII through traffic is growing at a rate of 2 to 3% per year, it is expected that traffic flow will increase by at least 15,000 to 37,000 vehicles-per–day (vpd) in the next few years. Off ramps provide motorist an opportunity to slow to 70 km while making their exit decisions.

This new expansion will provide an excellent gateway into the growing Gasoline Alley West making it more accessible to motorist and businesses. The new overpass will become an extension of Gaetz Ave south. Allowing for better flow of traffic between the City of Red Deer and Gasoline Alley West, without having to go entry onto the QEII.
