Before using your kettle. Itisrecommendedthatyoucleanyour

kettlebeforeusebyboilingafullkettleofwaterthendiscardingthewater.

Operation of your kettle1.Tofillthekettle,removeitfromthepower

baseandliftthelid.Fillwiththedesiredamountofwater.Alternatively,thekettlemaybefilledthroughthespout.Alwaysfillthekettlebetweentheminimumandmaximummarks.Toolittlewaterwillresultinthekettleswitchingoffbeforethewaterhasboiled.

NOTE:Donotfillthekettleoverthemaximumlevel,aswatermayspilloutofthespoutwhenboiling.Ensurethatthelidisfirmlyinplacebeforeplacingthekettleonthepowerbase.

2.Connectthepluginto230/240VoltACpoweroutlet.TurnthepowerON.

3.Positionthekettleonthepowerbase.PresstheON/OFFbuttononthetopofthekettle.Thepowerindicatorlightwilllightup.Thekettlewillswitchoffautomaticallyoncethewaterhasboiled.

NOTE: EnsurethattheON/OFFswitchisclearofobstructionsandthelidisfirmlyclosed.Thekettlewillnotturnoffiftheswitchisconstrainedorifthelidisleftopen.Donotremovethekettlefromthepowerbase,whileinuse.

4.Liftthekettlefromthepowerbaseandpourthewater.

NOTE: Usecautionwhenpouringthewaterfromyourkettle,asboilingwaterwillscald.

5.Thekettlemaybestoredonthepowerbasewhennotinuse.Thekettlewillnotre-boiluntiltheON/OFFswitchispresseddownward.

NOTE: EnsurethepoweristurnedOFFatthepoweroutletwhilethekettleisnotinuse.

Shouldyouaccidentallyallowthekettletooperatewithoutwater,theboil-dryprotectionwillautomaticallyswitchitoff.Ifthisshouldoccur,allowthekettletocoolbeforefillingwithcoldwaterandre-boiling.

1. Automatically switch off after boiling. Forconvenience,safetyandenergy

efficiency,yourSunbeamkettlefeaturesanautocut-outdevice.

2. Cut-out for boil-dry protection. Ifthekettleisoperatedwithoutwater,it

willautomaticallycut-out,preventinganydamagetotheelement.

3. Shut-down in case of overheating. Intheeventofoverheating,thekettlewill

automaticallyshutdowntopreventfurtherdamage.Shouldthisoccur,takeyourkettle toaSunbeamServiceCentreorAppointedServiceAgent.

Alwaysdisconnectthekettlefromthepoweroutletbeforecleaning.Neverimmersethekettleswitcharea,cordorpowerbaseinwater,orallowmoisturetocomeintocontactwiththeseparts.

Descale Your Kettle Regularly.Mineraldepositsintapwatersolidifywhenthewaterisheated;limescalemaybewhite,coloured,evenrusty-lookingandisnormallyvisiblebutphosphatescaleisn’tgenerallyvisiblealthoughmaycausethewatertoappearcloudywhenheated.Thismaycausetheinteriorofthewatergaugetodiscolour,reducetheeffectivenessoftheQuietBoiltechnology,causeoverheating,triggertheboil-drycut-outmechanismorevenreducethekettle’slife.Eveninsoftwaterareasitisimportanttodescaleyourkettleregularlytohelpmaintainsitslifecycle.Note:FailuretodescaleproductsregularlycanbedeemedasnegligenthandlingandanyfaultscausedbymineralbuildupwillnotbecoveredbytheSunbeam12MonthGuarantee.Note:Topreventdamagetotheappliancedonotusealkalinecleaningagentswhencleaning,useasoftclothandmilddetergentToremovethisbuild-up,useSunbeamLiquidDescaler,asimpletouse,non-toxiccleaneravailablefromSunbeamAppointedServiceAgents.

Alternatively:1.Fillthekettlewith3cupsofwhitevinegar

andtheremainderwithwaterandallowtostandovernight.DONOTBOIL.

2.Emptythesolutionfromthekettle.Anystainsremaininginsidethespoutcanberemovedbyrubbingwithadampcloth.Fillthekettlewithcleanwater,bringtoboilandthendiscardthewater.Repeatandthekettlewillthenbereadytouse.

Theoutsideofthekettlecanbewipedoverwithadampcloth.

CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle.
