PME commenced operations in the year 1988 as atransformer manufacturing company catering primarilyto Power utilities in the country. Over the years theCompany has developed capabilities and experience indesigning and manufacturing a range of oil filled powerand distribution transformers. Currently, we have thecapabilities of manufacturing transformers up to 330 KVclass.

Our transformers are designed for a range ofapplications in generation, transmission and distributionof electrical energy besides being used for industrialapplications, power plants, mining projects and arcfurnaces. The range of transformers that we havemanufactured and supplied to our customers include oil

filled distribution and power transformers with copper/aluminum windings, hermetically sealed type oil filled distributiontransformers, auto transformers, booster transformers, foil wound transformers, arc furnace transformers, step up generatortransformers, thyristor duty transformers and pole mounted transformers. Our transformers have passed tests from Government ofIndia’s accredited laboratory for our domestic sales and at Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano Giacinto Motta, spa,(CESI),Italy, in conformity with the IEC – 60076 standards, for our export sales.

With a view to enhance our product portfolio and manufacturing facilities, we have entered into a tri-partite agreement withMetglas Inc., U.S.A. and Hitachi Metals India Private Limited for the transfer of technology for manufacturing of Amorphous MetalDistribution Transformers. The aforesaid agreement allow our Company to manufacture Energy efficient Amorphous MetalDistribution Transformers (“AMDT”) using the technological knowhow of Metglas Inc., U.S.A. and Hitachi Metals India PrivateLimited under License.

Further, leveraging on our transformer designing and manufacturing capabilities, our Company has undertaken Engineering,Procurement and Construction (“EPC”) projects relating to construction of substations for transmission and distribution of electricpower and erection and commissioning of transmission and distribution lines. In such power sector EPC projects besides supplyingtransformers, we also typically undertake designing, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning of sub-stations, along withoperation and maintenance of such substations on a turn-key basis and erection and commissioning of transmission and distributionlines for setting up transmission and distribution electricity networks.

Our Company has over 18 years of experience in exporting transformers and has exported to various Asian, Middle East and Africancountries including Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Iraq, Oman, Mauritius, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Republic of SouthAfrica, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique.

For the last few years our Company has focused on establishing our presence in the African countries, which has enabled ourCompany to build a strong relationship with ZESA Enterprises (P) Limited in Zimbabwe, (“ZENT”), an undertaking controlled by theZESA Holdings Private Limited, a wholly owned entity of Government of Zimbabwe. Pursuant to the ZENT Agreement, we havegranted ZENT an exclusive license to manufacture, repair, use and sell power and distribution transformers manufactured/suppliedby our Company and to use our technical knowledge, know-how and information and intellectual property in connection therewith,in the SADC region.

We currently operate out of our manufacturing facilities located at Plot Nos. B-10, B-11 and Part of B-10 and B-11 in UPSIDCIndustrial Area, Surajpur Site “C”, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. As of March 31, 2012 we had an annual capacity to manufacturetransformers upto 7,000 MVA per annum.

Our manufacturing facility located at Surajpur, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh has been accredited with certifications pertaining toquality systems such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001). The Ministry of Commerce and Industry,Government of India has recognized our Company as a ‘Star Export House’. OurCompany has also been awarded “Star Performer Award” by the Engineering ExportsPromotional Council of India for Fiscal 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11. Thecompany has been awarded “Niryat Shree Gold Trophy” for the year 2009-2010 by FIEO(“Federation of Indian Export Organization”) by Honorable President of India and alsohas been awarded by India Exporters Excellence Award from ECGC-D&B, The Companyhas been awarded “Top Exporter Gold Trophy for the Year 2011-12 for mediumEnterprise from EEPC India on 15th March 2013.

INFRASTRUCTUREThe main plant is situated in Surajpur, an industrial hub

located on the outskirts of New Delhi, which allows for

convenient logistics. The factory is built on an area of

approximately 27, 237 sq. meters and has the capacity to

produce over 24,000 transformers per annum, of

assorted ratings ranging from 10 KVA to 150 MVA / 330

KV Class. The production set up is supported by an IT

enabled back end network of technocrats. We have all

the necessary facilities to carry out tests as per IEC / BS /

Indian standards, and all other up to date standards.

In an effort to provide the benefit of the state-of-art technology to our valued customers, the PME team of professional of

technocrats are engaged in continuous R & D an innovative designs in the line with highest standards of quality assurance.

The transformers are designed to give an exact value of stray loss stress calculation, temperature rise, winding hot spot, short

circuit withstand capability etc., along with low loss and noise level. Great emphasis is put on using the right value for critical

parameters like flux density, current density, loss dissipation factor etc. Our current production capacity is of over 24,000

transformers of assorted rating from 10KVA/11 Kv class to 150 MVA/ 0 KV class.33

Our transformer tanks are given shot blasting treatment followed by hot zinc spray treatment by flame gun process to give a

long lasting, corrosion and trouble free services in all sorts of climatic conditions prevailing at the site. Ultra violet x-ray

machine with fluorescent die-penetrating equipment is used to identify the welding cracks on the tank joints. This is followed

by air pressure and vacuum test of tank body, measurement of paint coating thickness and leakage test on complete

transformer to ensure leak free transformers.


TRANSFORMER DIVISION

TRANSFORMERS | EPC | MERCHANDISING

The in-house QC Lab tests every product as per IEC-60076 / IS-2026. Each and every component used in transformer undergoesBS /

series of stringent checks and controls at each stage of manufacture. It is ensured that strict technical and qualitative specifications

are adhered to meticulously and religiously. Some of the tests carried out are : Measurement of winding resistances, voltage ratio,

phase displacement, short-circuit impedance and load loss, no-load loss and no-load current. These are followed by a series of Di-

Electric Tests like separate source power frequency test on both primary and secondary sides, induced over voltage test, break down

value, resistivity and tan-delta dissipation factor of transformer oil, insulation resistance measurement test, temperature rise test

and measurement of noise levels. Mechanical test like air pressure and vacuum test of tank body, measurement of paint coating

thickness, Leakage test on complete transformers. Besides in-house test, transformers are tested for dynamic/thermal tests at CPRI.

WINDING DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE

� HV Winding is of generally using round wire in rectangular shape & single coil construction. The windings are wound on, on

automatic special machines having improved features to give best quality.

� LV winding is made with rectangular conductor & helical / spiral construction or foil type using special automatic machines.

� Core coil assembly is similar to conventional transformers except that core is unlaced in joint region & replaced by pushing core

sides together while closing the joint region.

� Coil is supported by the end frame assembly.

� Core coil assembly is heated in oven and tanked & finally filled with oil, dryied & tested for which the latest equipment's are

TRANSFORMERS | | MERCHANDISINGEPC

PME's EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) Division undertakes turnkey projects for HV Transmission and

Distribution Lines and Sub-Stations up to 400 KV Class from the designing stage through to the testing and commissioning

stages. We provide integrated design, installation, construction, testing and commissioning services on a turn-key basis.

Our projects include rural electrification, feeder renovation, underground cabling, feeder segregation, installing High

Voltage and Low Voltage Distribution Systems for Utilities.

In the Consumer Power Distribution sector for High Voltage industrial installations, we provide engineering, procurement

and construction services for building industrial power distribution networks. We undertake the renovation and

augmentation of existing distribution systems through a review of the operational requirements leading to the design, re-

engineering and implementation of best practices for minimizing losses and making more efficient usage of electrical

energy.


EPC DIVISION

By offering turnkey services we provide a single point responsibility solution during the course of the project. We guarantee

performance, fixed costs, timely execution and world class quality. The turnkey contract helps the customer to transfer the risks and

manpower burden to us, enables more effective project management and allows the client to focus on their core business. It also

makes financial planning easier and more organized as there is transparency in all techno-commercial activities, a pre-approved

billing schedule and project execution within fixed budgets. Post completion, we offer warranty for installed equipment,

integration of systems and services to the main plant and the provision of comprehensive "As Built" documentation.

At PME we have created a strong IT network and every aspect related to project execution, from design, drawings, costing,

scheduling, tracking, etc are integrated. MIS figures are updated online and are available for analysis and corrective action in real

time. The materials department uses a comprehensive data base of materials, inventory, specifications, suppliers and other details.

The Project Execution team works with a cross functional team comprising of representatives from Tendering, Finance, Design and

Procurement to ensure that implementation is smooth and coordinated. The execution team on site and the co-ordinator at the

head office keep tabs on timelines and completion schedules using software specifically designed for that purpose.
