Covering an area of 620 sq. km full of natural-istic enchanting attractions, the adamello Brenta Nature park comprises, on the west side, the Trentino portion of the Adamello-Presanella range, the kingdom of water, with great glaciers, turbulent torrents, spectacular waterfalls and a myriad of small enchanting lakes. In the east, instead, the Park encom-passes the magnificent Brenta Dolomites, now a uNESCO Natural World Heritage Site: a succession of towering pinnacles, crags and huge sheer rock walls. Lying between these two different worlds are many pictur-esque valleys – like Val Genova and Val di Tovel – each with their own characteristic landscape.

Wonderful scenery is created by water like the incredible waterfalls of Val Genova or Valle-sinella, the karstic springs of Stenico and doz-ens of lakes, among which Lake Tovel.In 2008 the Adamello Brenta Nature Park was declared a Geopark, thus becoming part of the European Geoparks and the UNESCO Glob-al Network of Geoparks: an important recogni-tion of the extraordinary characteristics of its geological heritage, the strategy of sustain-able development adopted and the initiatives implemented in the field of geotourism.

The first step was the UNI EN ISO14001 environmental certification (the first na-ture park in Europe to obtain it) and the

EMAS registration, which certify a con-stant commitment to the environment. The “Quality Park” mark for businesses confirms the requisites of environmental sustainability and enhancement of the peculiarities verified by the Det Norske Veritas, an international certification body.This led to the proposal for a tourism based on an experience combining the unique marvels of a landscape with knowledge and entertainment for all age levels. As a result everyone can enjoy the unspoilt natural surroundings of the Park and its wealth of activities and offers.

Every peak, valley, wood, every noise, sound and silence are part of the beauty that enriches the soul.The local mountain guides are perfectly aware of this and are ready to take you snowshoeing in search of the tracks of the inhabitants of the forest. From June to September the Park reaches its maximum splendour, even the air has a colour all of its own, brilliant lights, crystal clear waters, clouds passing above, a mar-vel under the open sky. The variegated and advantageous offer is included in the park Card reserved for the guests of the “Quality Park” Club hotels. Nature first and foremost, because spending time in the high lands helps to distil thoughts, because the mountains are not there to be conquered, but rather to be climbed and then humbly descended, a metaphor of everyday life. a park to be explored also on a mountain bike pedalling along a myriad of paths through meadows, woods and little squares with gurgling fountains.

How to get here:

from the north and south by the Brenner railway line and by the A22 motorway. The nearest airports are Bolzano (117 km from Trento), Verona (150 km from Trento), Milan and Venice. For travel within the provin-ce there are railway branch lines (Trento-Malè for Val di Non and Val di Sole, Trento-Venice for Valsugana) while road links are provided by the Trentino Trasporti bus services.

Villa Santi is the new environmental education centre of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park in the Municipality of Mon-tagne. An old country house that in 2009 has undergone conservative reno-vations to preserve its original appear-ance, while using innovative techniques with attention to healthy materials, energy efficiency and water saving. The house, run by the Park, sleeps 24 per-sons in comfortable double and quadru-ple rooms, each with ensuite bathroom. The house has a workshop for process-ing milk and honey extraction, a practice room, a reading room and library, games room, recreation areas, football train-ing pitch and a farm with rare breeds of cows, donkeys, goats, sheep and chick-ens. Our cook prepares organic meals, enhancing farm to fork produce, some of

which organically grown in the centre’s vegetable garden.
