The focus of study is on attitudes and perception and the importance of primary data cannot be over-emphasized. However, secondary data will also be collected to augment the studies.

We set some pre selected questions to gather the information and data about our research.

By accumulating the collected data we individually analyze each & every question.

Q1.What do you think about the universities of Bangladesh?

Parents: Public Universities are good but most of the private universities are very low in quality education.

Corporate Person: Most of the universities are having more or less problems.

All the universities both public & Private are improving.

Students: According to the UGC ranking A Category universities are good.

Agency: The number of universities both public and private is increasing. But Public universities are always preferable.

Teachers & Administration: Public Universities are good in quality education but private universities are also improving rapidly.

Analysis: Most of the respondents said that public university provides quality education, most of the private university improving their education standards

Q2. How do you assess the Quality of best University in Bangladesh?

Parents: Quality students

Corporate Person: Up to date curriculum, research opportunities, own campus

Students: Information from the surroundings

Agency: Research opportunities & collaboration with foreign universities.

Teachers & Administration: Own Campus, Quality Education system, Research opportunities

Analysis: Here Respondents replied in different ways, some mentioned quality education, some mentioned research facilities and collaboration with foreign institutes.

Q3.What would be the Academic System of the private Universities?

Parents: Follow the guideline of Dhaka University.

Corporate Person: Strictly follow UGC prescriptions. May imitate the DU.

Students: May Follow IBA

Agency: May follow North American University Guideline

Teachers & Administration: Public University Guideline, UGC Guideline & also internationally reputed university guideline.

Analysis: All the respondents have almost same opinion to follow the UGC Standards, may take DU education system as idol.

Parents: Good Environment, Good Teacher, High Corporate Collaboration, Own Campus.

Corporate Person: Internationally qualified Faculty, Up to date Curriculum, Good Administration

Agency: Faculty, Up to date Curriculum, Participation in international competition.

Teachers & Administration: Up to date Curriculum, Quality Faculty, Research Lab

Analysis: Most of the respondents replied that qualified faculty, up to date curriculum, own campus is important.

Q6. Would you please compare top 3 Universities?

Parents: BUET is the best of PU because of no political involvement, good residential facilities, quality education. But NSU is costly and DU has session jam.

Corporate: All are well known universities, but student will get chance to entry in job market according to their merit.

Students: Students first choice is DU, then BUET, but NSU is the first preference of Private Universities.

Agency: meritorious student will get advantages, but yes, good universities have some brand value.

Teachers & Admin: BUET & DU are good university with their education system.

 

Analysis: most of respondents placed BUET & DU as top university, NSU is good but costly.

Q7. How Brac University can get those University factors?

Parents: Should follow best university curriculum.

Corporate: They can follow UGS prescribed rules & regulation.

Students: University should follow foreign university curriculum, because we are following North American curriculum.

Agency: Authority may change the curriculum by doing research.

Teachers & Admin: According to student need university should focus the change.

Analysis: More or less respondents said authority may focus on curriculum according to UGC prescribed rules & regulation.

Corporate: BUET- 10/10, DU-9/10, NSU-8/10.

Analysis: Most of respondents rated BUET as 10/10.

Q9. What do you want from a good university?

Parents: Experienced teachers, own campus, residential facility

Corporate: Quality graduates, researched based education.

Students: Own campus, lab, library, and good teachers.

Agency: International collaboration, participation in different programs, quality graduates.

Teachers & Admin: Quality education, experienced teachers.

Analysis: All respondents said some factors like own campus, experienced faculties, lab, library, int. collaboration are expected from good university.

Q10. How do you assure the Quality of Course Designing?

Parents: Course design should like real life based.

Corporate: Corporate culture study should involve in course design, this will help them. Students: Course design will help student when they entry in job market.

Agency: Course design should design according to real life & job market based.

Teachers & Admin: Course design should be made like student gets dept knowledge about the specific subject.

Analysis: Course design should be real life based which help to get department knowledge of the study& help in job life.

Q11. How the Student’s Admission procedure and Grading System would be?

 Parents: Current system of admission system must be changed, should follow the pattern of GMAT, GRE, and Sat examination questions. Same equivalent grading system both in Public and Private.

Corporate Person: Admission should be over very competitive exam with written, 1st interview, 2nd interview. Grading system should be as UGC prescription

Students - The admission procedure should be analytical and the grading system should follow the common system

Agency: The admission procedure should be internationally standardized. And grading system must equivalent with the modern world.

Teachers & Administrations: Question pattern is different which is not related with subject. Standard should strictly maintain.

Analysis: Each and every one has advised for changing admission procedure as well as grading system. They all informed us that the current system is not appropriate to evaluate a student though admission and grading system.

Q12. What would be the Scholarship Offering to Students?

Parents: The first five places should be eligible for scholarship.

Corporate Person: To good result & real poor student

Students: On the basis of overall merit and current result

Agency: As per UGC standard and Universities should follow the UGC approved scholarship procedure.

Teachers & Administrations: Should avoid emotional attachment, should follow the quota system to make list for scholarship program.

Analysis: Her we find that different people have different opinion about scholarship process. Someone focus on merit and someone focus on financial condition.

Q13. What are the Recruitment Policies and Process for the Teachers?

Parents: Should change the traditional recruitment system in public university or private university and add some qualification other than the academic background like motivational power, study system, personality, leadership quality.

Corporate Person: Inter university joint committee can recruit the teacher with transparent process

Students: Experienced and skilled teachers also higher educated teachers should be hired

Agency: As per UGC strict rule no compromise

Teachers & Administrations - Should avoid lobbing, Should have PHD and should have at least Masters Degree for Lecturer.

Analysis – In this we question we found different answers. Some person said about to change the procedure, some advised to follow UGC standard. And some one suggests avoiding lobbing or any kind of corruption.

Q14. What would be the Student Evaluation System?

Parents: As usual Corporate Person: Very strict and analytical. Students: Results, the skill of presentation and analytical skill Agency: According presence, Class participation, inter

communicatively & exam result Teachers & Administration: Attitude, attendance, performance and off

course though exam.

 

Analysis – Evaluation should be multi dimensional not alone with the examination mark rating evaluation.

Q15. What would be the Research Facilities for the Teachers and Students?

Parents- Should increase Corporate Person – Plenty of research facility should be provided for

student as well as teacher Students – Universities can arrange research fair for teachers and

students. Agency – Sufficient LAB, Instructors & budget. Teachers & Administration - Budget should be increase for research

purpose in each and every university which is very poor at this moment.

Analysis – In this question each and every participants said that we should increase our budget as well as enrich our lab facilities in order to get better education service.

Q16. How the Students’ Associations, Co-curricular and Extracurricular Activities will be performing?

Parents: There should be very cordial responsible interaction Corporate people: There should be very structured coordination among

everything Students: Teacher Direct interaction, out of class in sessions –seminars and

hangout programs Agency: Good healthy seminar and session can educate both student and

teachers Teachers & Administration: Student should be more attentive about their

relationship to university with different

Analysis: There must be a good environment for the students’ activities and live extracurricular actions to be the leading university.

Q17. How Management, Faculty Members and Students Interact?

Parents: As traditional systems are running in the universities, it should be more friendly relationship about this matter to get positive environment in the universities.

Corporate people: The interaction should be sound and clear. Everyone should be equal participated.

Students: Through opening clubs, arranging workshops and fairs. Agency: Direct interaction, out of class in sessions –seminars and

hangout programs Teachers & Administration: Teacher is the main focus. Management

will provide facilities for teachers. And environment should be friendly.

Analysis: Good and interactive relationship is needed for a good comprehensive university

Q18. How about the International Collaboration of the University?

Parents: Should increased

Corporate people: This is very much important for knowledge enhancement. At least North America and UK universities should be in touch

Students: The demand of universities for foreign students should increase

Agency: International university collaboration is must for this time without that a university can’t have good quality and resources

Teachers & Administration: If we follow unique education system which will helpful for international collaboration system.

Analysis: From all point of views the international collaboration is must to be a good leading university in the country.

Q19. What would be Infrastructural Support?

Parents: UGC should take more vigilant approach to cope up about this matter with the help of government.

Corporate people: Big & own campus is must. Students: Now a days the main support is the large campus and highly

developed labs. Agency: Large campus, Good location, Hi-tech facilities. Teachers & Administration: Research facilities must be increase and

should increase the budget.

Analysis: A large self owned campus with all types of educational, technological and entertainment providing facilities is must for a leading university

Q20. What Brac University can provide not provided by anyone?

Parents: New courses provide

Corporate people: Extraordinary foreign educational alliance for student & teachers.

Students: Brac University can provide residential facilities like public universities.

Agency: Can be the American & European international recognized professional courses provider in Bangladesh.

Teachers & Administration: New joint venture courses and programs can be introduced through national & international

Analysis: Brac University can provide some service what is

very new and effective to attract people of emerging market as well as sustain in the existing competitive market.

Limitation of the study

The main constraint of the study was inadequate access to information.

Due to time limitations, many of the aspects are not discussed in the present report.

Every organization has their own secrecy that is not revealed to others. While collecting data i.e. interviewing the employees, they did not disclose much information for the sake of the confidentiality of the organization.

The sample size may not represent the total population. Due to political unrest situation our entire activities hampered

heavily.
