SUBSYSTEMS FOR SAP QM: OPTIMAL INTEGRATION INTO SAP QUALITY MANAGEMENT

QM/3 SUBSYSTEM:EFFICIENT MEASUREMENT DATA RECORDING UNDER SAP QM

QM/3 is a practically-oriented front end for quality inspection under SAP. The quality workstation guarantees easy, clear and quick pro-cessing of the SAP inspection lot. A coupling of coordinate measu-rement instruments, tensile testing instruments, analysis systems and company-speci� c inspection systems is also possible.

SAP is still the superior planning and control system: Item master data, inspection plans, catalogs, inspection lots, etc. are taken over exclusively from QM/3 (SAP standard interface QM-IDI), subsequent-ly the measurement data recording is done in QM/3, on request the usage decision is also made there. The results recording can be done manually, semi- or completely automatically. After the inspec-tion is complete, the results are reported back to the SAP system. Statistical evaluations, reports and statistical tests can be created.

The connection of interface systems for digital manual and small measurement devices is possible at any time, as is the integration of complex measurement, inspection and laboratory systems.

QM/3 AUTOCLIENT:FULLY AUTOMATIC DATA RECORDING

The QM/3 AutoClient is a “black box” version of the QM/3 subsys-tem. It enables fully automatic recording of measurement data via � le or database interfaces – no manual intervention by the user is required. For example, the measurement logs of a measurement instrument or an analysis device are evaluated and transferred to the appropriate SAP inspection lot.

Exceptional situations are communicated to a responsible recipient via e-mail or logged in a database table.

Frequently, the integration of measurement, inspection and laboratory systems into SAP Quality Management is complex.SAP's requirements are cost-intensive and the implementation can be time-consuming or perhaps not even feasible. Our subsystems were developed especially for use with SAP QM and certi� ed by SAP. They make integration into SAP QM as easy as possible – without a lot of e� ort and for a reasonable price. For performing inspections, we o� er time-saving functions for the integrated quality workstation, completely automatic data recording and statistical evaluations.

VIEW/3: EFFICIENT, FLEXIBLE REPORTS AND EVALUATIONS

VIEW/3 is a front end for quality evaluation and reporting under SAP QM. It serves as a functional expansion of the SAP QM application and o� ers � nished report templates and expanded, graphic and statistical evaluations.

Evaluations

VIEW/3 makes available tabular, graphical and statistical evaluations for quality-related data analysis of SAP inspection lots. All necessary quality-related statistics, calculations and analyses are present, inclu-ding Xquer, Pareto, characteristic comparison, frequency distribution, SPC, capability index and many more.

Report templates

Based on Crystal Reports, a multitude of report templates are made available to the quality sector. This way, SAP inspection lot data can be output, e.g. as initial sample inspection report, defect inspection chart, control cards, random sample and process analysis, PPM, 8D report or inspection equipment capability and certi� cations.

These are necessary additions to the SAP standard. Customer-speci� c adjustments, layouts, expansions and database queries are possible – as are optional reporting of SAP quality reports and complaints. Special analyses and evaluations can be made available on request.

The AutoReport module provides application and database-spanning automatic reporting. Reports (Crystal Reports � le) can be output directly on a printer or exported in various formats (PDF, Word, Excel) in order to be saved as � le (e.g. on a network drive) or sent directly as an e-mail to one or several recipients (via MAPI or SMTP). For example, the report for the previous day can be sent each morning to particular recipients. Once automatic reporting has been set up correctly, a single call (viaa batch � le) is enough to generate several reports from di� erent appli-cations in di� erent databases/database users and in any combination of print, � le storage or e-mail sending (for all reports at the same time or individually per report). Ideally, such a call is made (e.g. daily) via the Windows Task Scheduler on a server, which means that the reporting is done 100% automatically.

ADD-ONS FOR SAP QM:DIRECT CONNECTIONS THANKS TO OUR ADD-ONS

SAP ADD-ON MIC/3: DIRECT CONNECTION OF MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT TO SAP QM

The measurement equipment interface connector MIC/3 is a cost-effective add-on for direct online measurement value recording via the SAP interface and transaction. MIC/3 allows direct connection of measurement equipment via di� erent interface systems to the SAP QM application and is also incorporated directly into SAP results recording.

MIC/3 supports all common interface systems for interface boxes, e.g. Steinwald, Bobe, Mitutoyo, Ibrit, Elias, Brecht, etc.. Alternatively, measurement equipment can be connected directly to the PC easily via the COM/USB interface – in this case, no interface box is required.

GENPPL CONSULTING SOLUTION:FOR AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF AN SAP INSPECTION PLAN

A complete SAP inspection plan can be generated automatically or up-dated from a speci� c measurement log and additional data. After interpre-tation of the characteristic designations and tolerances, user-speci� c con-� gurations are used to add more information that is required to create an inspection plan (e.g. random sample table, measurement unit, places after the decimal point, etc.). The inspection characteristics are created directly in the inspection or work plan under the selected inspection procedure or as batch input folder. A new inspection plan is created with a new transaction for the characteristics of the measurement log. The characteristics of the � le are added to an existing inspection plan. The transaction can be placed in the SAP favorites – so the program can be started directly.

MMCONNECT:TAKEOVER OF MEASUREMENT MACHINE LOGS INTO SAP QM

MMConnect allows the takeover of actual values from measurement ma-chine logs directly into SAP QM. Parametrization for the import of this data is done in the SAP inspection plan. Several measurement machine types are supported (e.g. QS-STAT formats, ZEISS-Calypso, etc.).

Our add-ons o� er additional possibilities for working with SAP: Consulting solutions and additional ABAP programs are available. Various inspection plans are generated automatically in SAP, characteristics are taken over directly from measurement machine logs. Thus many processes run automatically – which saves time and makes your work easier.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS IN SAP:ABAP COMPONENTS FOR FUNCTIONAL EXPANSION

In addition to the QM-IDI interface, there are other standard RFC compo-nents (ABAP programs) available for functional expansion and expanded communication between the subsystem and SAP.

For example, these additional programs handle the download of long texts, production tools, customer and supplier data or foreign-language

characteristic texts, access to SAP document manage-ment, status implementation for inspection points with Skip or the automatic generation of an SAP inspection plan. From a measurement log and additional data, it is possible to generate or update a complete SAP inspection plan.
