Name: Period: 4 QARs: Question-Answer Relationships As you read The Giver , you will naturally b egin asking questions. Use this sheet to recor d your questions and the answers. Do not be frustrated if some of your questions are never fully answered after you finish the novel. Here are four question-answer relationships (QAR)that will help you complete this guide. 1) Right There The answer to the question is found in plain si ght in the text. You can point to the answer and say, “It’s right there.” 2) Think and Search  the answer is in the text, but you have to look in several places and gather multiple ideas together to formulate the a nswer. 3)  Author and You  The answer is NOT in the text, but you need to think about the information the author has given you and add it to the knowledge you already have to formulate the answer. 4) On My Own  The answer is NOT in the text at all. questions and the answers. Do not be frustrated if some of your questions are never fully

answered after you finish the novel.

Here are four question-answer relationships (QAR)that will help you complete this guide.

1) 

Right There –The answer to the question is found in plain sight in the text. You can point

to the answer and say, “It’s right there.”
