MODERN RECRUITMENT VIDEO INTERVIEW
Video-interviews are quickly becoming a key tool in recruitment processes conducted by employers and headhunting
agencies.
This modern form of selecting candidates has three basic advantages, that is:
Video Interview is a reaction to the demanding market where there are more vacancies than job candidates, surrounding
processes automation and technological progress.
Bearing in mind that the vast majority of the recruited candidates are the so-called Millennials, enterprises need to draw
the attention of this generation by way of innovative technology, among others.
How does it work? Video recruitment gives the opportunity to conduct a job interview with previously selected questions
and the candidate’s response to be recorded. The candidate opens a link sent in advance at any device whatsoever with
access to the Internet and a camera. There is no need to determine the date of the meeting, the candidate is going to
answer the questions at any time and place. The interview may be supplemented with some test questions, any tasks or
questions assessing the fitness of the candidate to the given post (e.g. concrete qualifications, command of foreign
languages, etc.) which automatically are going to take the candidate to another step of the recruitment procedure.
What is more, using applications in recruitment processes helps eliminate potential discrimination of candidates. Each
person is assessed in line with the equal criteria while the system relying upon the artificial intelligence is resistant to
prejudices with regard to the candidate’s gender, age or origin.
From the candidate’s point of view, such form of recruitment equals to less stress; on top of that, the candidate may
present themselves better at this preliminary stage of selection.
The majority of the applications available on the market works on the extension of the assessment of the candidate’s
behaviour and competence by way of the transcription of speech and analysis of the face mimics, body language, etc. It is
enough to have a few recorded candidate’s utterances to find out a lot about their communication skills, personality or
motivation for work.

MODERN RECRUITMENT VIDEO INTERVIEW
Automation of recruitment processes is a natural course of events. But for the
time being the main goal is to eliminate the most work-consuming administrative
activities from the recruiter’s list of duties. Will – in a few years’ time – the
demand for real recruiters disappear? It seems that no - the final decision is still
taken by a human being.
Adecco Group uses 3 different solutions for Video Recruitment. This solution
has been gaining positive opinions both of the recruiters and customers, e.g. in
2018 Adecco Spain conducted 45,000 such interviews. In Adecco Poland this
tool is used, among others, by the Recruitment Centre rendering services for
the Central Europe.
