Aletta Vaida Media Studies How does your media product represent particular social groups? I have used my questionnaire in my research stage to get an idea of my social groups and what I will have to be taking into evidence. Horror movies have a very wide audience so we had to take in consideration everything what the audience would expect from our movie. Our particular social group are teenagers, and for the opening it is a teenage girl. Soon after the opening starts we see a girl that looks like she's been tied up, kept as a prisoner in a very terrifying place by some unknown character. This gives us the impression of teenagers being the principal victims and therefore in the most danger as well. The clips have been edited to move on, from the terrifying church on to the victim to show how the story has been described, exactly how it looks. In the following clip we than see a teenage boy running up a hill surrounded by trees. From here we can understand that he is part of the situation as well, and is probably making his way to the place where the missing girl is. The music is playing the same as it did at the start. As the clip goes on, we get to see what other things are happening to the victim. We see that something bad is about to happen as the victim looks even more scared than in the previous scene and she all of a sudden starts screaming, with a evil voice speaking in the background. This helps to build up the tension as well as getting the idea of finding out what the killer is like. This represents teenagers as the main victims and the ones in the most danger. This also shows that young people are exposed to danger and more likely to be involved in this kind of incident.
