We believe that an institution that would be likely to be interested in distributing a film such as ours would be Vertigo Films.

They are an British independent film institution who have produced successful horror films in the past. Films such as “The Children” and “A Night In A Woods”

Through our case studies we realised that Vertigo films used a skeleton crew and had a small budget. An example is Monster in whom created their production from only $15,000.

We believe that our film is suited to this institution due to the style of the film we are producing. The use of handi-cam and the evidently low amount of money invested, causes us to believe that Vertigo Films is right for us.

Word of mouth would be a major strategy used to promote our film. We would assist this in the use of viral marketing. Hopefully it would become successful on the internet, and many people would share it around in order for its popularity to grow.

Due to the low amount of money that will be invested into Wakefield Manor, realistically, we wont be able to produce a large marketing campaign.

We would hope to aim at the core target audience for horror and get them interested in our production . This would hopefully increase our audience even though it does not meet the four quadrants, and thus is aimed at a niche audience.

Due to being associated with Vertigo Films, synergistic promotional activity will not take place on a large scale. This is due to Vertigo Films not having many links with other companies like Warner Bros. or DreamWorks evidently would.

Due to the limited money invested in the production and distribution of Wakefield Manor, it would be unlikely that our film would be in the major cinema’s such as the Odeon.

Nevertheless, there is a chance that possibly a smaller, independent cinema could show a film such as ours. This is because they may have a greater interest in promoting independent films made within their own country, Vertigo Films fitting the criteria perfectly.

An art-house cinema could also be interested in showing a film such as ours.

The introduction of Web 2.0 means that now, we will be able to release our film and quite easily market it over the internet. This hopefully means we can create a buzz over the film pre-release and therefore further our audience, and additionally, revenue.
