Publishing companies

Two publishing houses I have learned about during my research and planning is Bauer Media and Team Rock.

Bauer Media is one of the biggest publishing houses in the UK. They are well known for publishing Q, MOJO and Kerrang!, they also distribute their media through radio and television.

Another company that I have researched is Team Rock, which are known for publishing Classic Rock and Metal Hammer.

Where Un-plugged fits in?

Un-plugged would fit into Bauer Media, this is because this publishing company already distributes Q and MOJO, which both are rock genre music magazines, as is Un-plugged. Also Bauer Media’s target audience are mainly young people, which is shown by magazines like Kerrang! ; which is the target audience for Un-plugged. Whereas Team rock mainly aims at older people, this is shown by music magazines such as Classic Rock.

Advisement

Adverts that would be present in Un-plugged, would be adverts that my target audience could find appealing and useful. Therefore this would be adverts for rock music events and albums, this is because Un-plugged is a music magazine and its genre is rock.

Another advertisement that would be included in Un-plugged, would be advertisement for clothing. This is because my target audience are teenagers and young adults, as a result these groups of people often shopping habits are cloths, which would suit my audience.

Finally Un-plugged would also include advertisement for new-technology. This because my target audience are always interested in new-technology, because of today's trend for technology.

Online presence

I think that it would be sustainable for Un-plugged to have an online presence, this is because today’s trend of new-technology and social networking.

The type of online presence that Un-plugged would have are that it would have social network presence on Facebook and Twitter (also with its own website), this is because theses are the most often used social networks.

Also this links to the target audience of Un-plugged, due to frequent use of social networks today.

App

Un-plugged would also have an app on which the reader would be able to access to all the stories in Un-plugged.

The app would be free, although the app would make profit through the advertisement shown on the app. The readers would be able to access the app without advertisement but the would have to pay £1.99 for an advertisement free app.

The app would be able to buy on the Apple App Store and Android. If the app becomes successful than it would be available on more app markets, such as Microsoft Market and Blackberry market.
