    2012 P A R E N T C H A L L E N G E 2013

    We started off the school

    year with a Drop Everything

    And Read campaign where all

students participated inreading throughout the day.

    The library also hosted a

    Scholastic Book Fair, which

    was the most successful to

    date!

    This year a new program

has been added to the library.

    On Friday afternoons, with the

    help of Geoff McMartin,

    Games Day has been

launched. Join us as we learn

    new games and have fun.

    In addition to welcoming

    students into the library, we

also took a group of 15

students to Kidsbooks. Theresult of this trip was the

addition, to the library, of 5

    huge boxes of new books.

    Last week also marked the

    completion of FYP Reading

Week. You can tell from the

    big, juicy caterpillar in the

    lobby how successful this was!

Thank you to all of the

    parents who have been

    supporting our efforts to

    encourage a culture of reading

    at Southpointe Academy. Our

    parent volunteers have been

saviours as we have been busyreorganizing sections of the

    library and cataloguing the

new books. Feel free to stop

by the library in the New Year

    and visit us.

    -Jess & Steph

Its been a busy term in the library!

    STUDENTS, IF YOUR

    PARENTS COMPLETE THESE
