 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 20th June 2011 Four Major Photojournalism Awards for Burma Gold, Silver & Bronze in ‘Photojournalism (Political)’ Gold in ‘Photojournalism (People)’ Documentary photographer, James Mackay, has won four awards for three separate pieces of work about Burma in the Photojournalism Category for professional photographers at this years’ ‘Prix de la Photographie Paris’ (PX3) Awards 2011. The Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) is one of the biggest and most important photography competitions in Europe. The jury selected 2011’s winners from thousands of photography entries from over 85 countries and all winners can be viewed on the PX3 website www.px3.fr PX3 is juried by top international decision-makers in the photography industry and winning entries from each major category are exhibited in Paris Espace Dupon in June 2011. The winners are also published in the high-quality, full-color PX3 Annual Book, which is distributed to galleries, agencies, publishers and bookstores worldwide. About the Winner:  James Mackay is a freelance documentary photographer based in South East Asia and UK where he studied photography at Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design. His work specialises in documenting the ongoing political and humanitarian issues in Burma both inside the country, on it’s borders as well as amongst those now forced into exile. He is currently undertaking a number of long term documentary projects with and about Burma’s political prisoners and Burma’s human rights defenders & democracy activists.
