OUTSIDE COACHES:(Regulations, Guidelines & Recommendations)

1. Parel Vallei High School, as representative body for all parents and staff at Parel Vallei High, pays your remuneration, and therefore requests that you abide by the basic rules

associated within the Parel Vallei Sport Program.

2. You as coach are seen as representative of the school.

3. At PV, sport is valued as an important aspect of the holistic education model weendeavor to offer our pupils

4. The educational value of sport is therefore regarded as paramount.

5. Striving for victory, as important as it might be, should therefore never outweigh theaim of guiding our pupils towards becoming fair sportsmen.

6. We expect our coaches to set the example on and off the field while involved with ourteams. Do not teach dirty tactics.

7. Always dress like a professional. Don’t smoke or drink alcohol in presence of players

8. No swearing and unnecessary aggressive shouting, especially during matches.

9. Do not undermine any aspects of Parel Vallei School – should there be need forcriticism, contact Mr. Schenk (Headmaster) or Director of the Sport Office, Mrs. Kets

10. Keep contact numbers of your players and their parents and if part of an age group Whatsapp/social media group keep commenting always within said guidelines above.

11. Refrain from being too familiar with learners and parents.

12. Do not arrange extra practices/matches without informing the Head of Rugby, the Manager and/or the Sport Office.

13. Please report any misbehavior or inappropriate conduct to the Head of Rugby, Mr. Schenk (Headmaster) and/or Sport Office.

14. Close liaison, either verbally or by regular reports, is essential.

15. We suggest that you keep careful record of attendance at practices and ofwho played in a specific match. Also mention any noteworthy achievements.

16. Be aware of any medical or physical problems of your players (get theinformation from the Head of Rugby if necessary)

17. Get your team to respect the sport facilities and equipment and ensure that nothingis lost or broken. Report any deficiencies in sport equipment to the Head of Rugby

so as to avoid endangering our players.

18. Keep a neat record of your coaching and/or refereeing sessions andsubmit these to the Sport Office for arrangement of payment.

19. Set an example to your team by welcoming the opposition and shaking handsafter the match.

20. We thank you for your valuable contribution in making our pupils awareof the benefits of playing sport, in teaching them to enjoy physical exercise

and healthy competition using the Core Values of the Game as your framework.
