Pushkar is one of the sacred pilgrim places of Hindus which is positioned just 11kms to the North West of Ajmer. Renowned for its magnificent lake side positioning, the great poet Kalidasamentioned about this place in his classic Abigyan Shakuntalam. The stunning holy place is also renowned for a world famous Pushkar lake which holds a legend about the Creator God Brahma. According to the legend when the demon Vajra Nabhakilled the children of Lord Brahma, in rage of anger he attacked the killer with this weapon, which is lotus flower and he died there. During this time, petals of the Lotus flower got spread at three places. Pushkar is one of three and also a lake originated. In the whole world, there is just one temple of Lord Brahma which is located in Pushkar.
