Birthdays March

Sharing Reminder: When you, a loved one, or friend at Spirit of Grace is in the hospital or in need of care and support, please remember to contact the church office volunteer or email: [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected]. Posting prayer & care needs on your personal facebook is just that -- a personal post to your family and friends. If you want to initiate a visit or prayers from your church family, the personal facebook post doesn’t substitute for notifying the church of-fice, which leads to pastoral/lay visitation follow up &/or prayer chain.

Database Updates Do you have a new email? Are you getting emails from Spirit of Grace? Do you have a new Cell Phone? Have you moved? Please be sure to send any new contact information to [email protected] ASAP! Sending as much communication out as possible by email keeps postage costs lower. Let’s keep in touch & stay connect-ed. Thank you!

Prayers & Squares: meets every 2nd & 4th Mondays at North Campus @ 6:30pm. All are welcome. Contact Mae Haines for more info 727.863.4329

The purpose of Prayers and Squares: to promote prayer through the use of quilts. Our motto is: "It's not about the quilt, it's all about the prayers". Absolutely no sewing experi-ence needed. There is always a way to participate!

How to Give a Gift of Prayer in the Form of Quilt? It is NOT appropriate to surprise someone with a prayer quilt. You must first ask the person you are considering giving this gift of prayer to if they would accept it. You then respect their answer. To request a quilt please fill out a form that is located in the narthex of each Campus.

Sew & Sews

The Sew & Sews quilting ministry is taking a break for summer and will resume in the fall. This quilting group

makes quilts that are distribut-ed all over the world through Lutheran World Relief. For

Dear Spirit of Grace, Sunday at worship at PDK Banquet Hall, we were all swept up into the sheer delight of a sweet toddler movin’ and groovin’ to the songs in wor-ship. She teetered her way up front, in front of James and Craig who were playing their guitars and singing. At a pause in the music, her sing-

ing sounds could be heard. She reminded all of us about that beautiful carefree childlike spirit. She gave joy and smiles were on everyone’s faces. Through my own smiles, I thought about how David in the Old Testament danced before God and how many from generation-to-generation have danced and sang and played instruments before God in praise and thanksgiving. That offering our praise and thanks-giving to God is among the central purposes of wor-ship. And we were reminded that encountering this joy, and being caught up into her joy actually multi-plies our own. By so doing, it grows our own reser-voir for daily living. More experiences of worship are ahead with the sea-son of Lent starting this coming Wed, March 6, to grow our reservoir of faith for daily living. In Lent, we reconnect with specific themes of reflecting and introspection, prayer and forgiveness, all accompa-nied by the life, ministry, death and resurrection of our Lord. See you in Worship with grateful hearts, Pr. Rita Gardner Tweed, Lead Pastor, Spirit of Grace

Announcing the up-coming Baptism of Domonique Louise, newly born grand-daughter of Terry Neal. Her baptism will be celebrated on March 24, PDK Ban-quet Hall, 10:15 wor-ship service.

She & Rich will be moving to New York to join her son & daughter-in-law! Congratula-tions! And we will miss you! Her last Sunday will be March 24. Welcome new Stephen Minister Nancy Colson! Nancy worships at North Campus, Saturday 5pm

Stephen Ministers are Christian Caregivers. They go through training to learn about Christian Caregiving. They are there for people who are dealing with grieving a death, divorce, medical problems, terminal illness, and transitions in their life and need someone to talk to about their feelings about what they are going through. Listening is what Stephen Ministers do. There is confidentially between the Caregivers and the Care receivers so what is said is just between them. They meet and provide comfort and support and prayer for as long as it is needed. The Stephen Ministers of Spirit of Grace also make hospital visits and give home commuion. They join in the prayer ministry for and with you. If you are is interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, tcontact Karen Beeten at 727-457-8310.
