1 Overview

SSL Certificate Manager (SCM) is a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate managementplatform. The platform works with world's leading digital Certificate Authorities (CAs) tohelp you to purchase SSL certificates, upload local (external) SSL certificates, and centrallymanage internal and external SSL certificates.

SCM provides five types of certificates (DV, OV, EV, OV Pro, and EV Pro) and four CAs(GeoTrust, Globalsign, Symantec, and CFCA) for you to choose from. Table 1-1 describesthe certificate types.

Symantec and Geotrust A Domain Validation (DV) SSLcertificate is indicated by a greenpadlock and "https" on a webbrowser. Before issuing the certificateto an applicant, a CA verifies theapplicant's ownership of the domainname. The certificate can beassociated with multiple domains andwildcard domains.Issued rapidly and low in price, thiscertificate is suitable for individualsand small- and medium-sizedbusinesses to protect their websites.

An Organization Validation (OV)SSL certificate is indicated by a greenpadlock and "https" on a webbrowser. Before issuing the certificateto an applicant, a CA verifies theapplicant's identity thoroughly.Capable of guarding the transmissionof sensitive data on internal andexternal networks, this certificate isparticularly recommended for small-and medium-sized companies and e-commerce businesses.

ExtendedValidation (EV)

GeoTrust, Globalsign,Symantec, and CFCA

An Extended Validation (EV) SSLcertificate is indicated by a greenpadlock, the applicant's full name,and "https" on a web browser.Review the applicant strict identityauthentication and high trust level.Because the CA verifies theapplicant's identity in a variety ofmechanisms, this certificate offers avery high level of trust and isrecommended for large-sizedenterprises.

OrganizationValidationProfessional(OV Pro)

Symantec An Organization ValidationProfessional (OV Pro) SSL certificateis indicated by a green padlock and"https" on a web browser. Thiscertificate features strong encryptionalgorithm. In addition, the CAprovides vulnerability assessment andmalware scanning services forapplicants.It is suitable for small- and medium-sized companies that have demandingdata security requirements.

Symantec An Extended Validation Professional(EV Pro) SSL certificate is indicatedby a green padlock, the applicant'sfull name, and "https" on a webbrowser. Offering powerfulencryption performance and a veryhigh level of trust, this certificate issuitable for organizations with highersecurity requirements.In particular, it is suitable fororganizations of the financing andbanking industry.

2 Charging Standard

Except for Domain Validation (DV) SSL certificates issued by Symantec, other certificates allcharge fees. SCM charges by the type, issuer, and purchased period of the certificate as wellas the type and quantity of domains.

3 Purchasing a Certificate

ScenarioThis section describes how to purchase a certificate on SCM.

PrerequisitesYou have obtained an account and its password to log in to the management console.

Procedure

Step 1 Log in to the management console.

Step 2 Choose Security > SSL Certificate Manager. In the navigation tree on the left, selectCertificate Management. The certificate list is displayed.

Step 3 In the upper right corner of the page, click Purchase Certificate to go to the certificatepurchase page.

Step 4 On the page for purchasing a certificate, set values for Certiticate Type, Certificate Issuer,Domain Type, Domain Quantity, and Validity Period, as shown in Figure 3-1. Table 3-1describes the parameters.

GeoTrust

Domain Type Select a domain type of domain. Currently, Singledomain, Multiple domains, and Wildcard domainare supported.NOTE

l Only one primary domain or subdomain is supported. Forexample, domain.com, ssl.domain.com, andssl.ssl.domain.com are all one single domain name anddomain.com does not include subdomain names such asssl.domain.com.

l If all secondary or tertiary domains need to be supported,purchase a wildcard certificate.

ValidityPeriod

Indicates the validity period of a certificate. Currently,two optional values are provided for SSL certificates: 1year and 2 years.Symantec DV SSL certificates can be used free ofcharge for one year.

Step 5 In the lower right corner of the page, click Purchase Now.

NOTE

For any doubt about the pricing, click Price Details in the lower left corner.

Step 6 After confirming that the order is correct, read the SCM disclaimer. If you agree, select I haveread and agree to the SSL Certificate Manager Disclaimer and click to Submit Order.

After you submit your order, you can view information about the certificate you purchased onthe console.

Step 7 Go to the payment page and select a payment method.

l Payment using balanceUse your HUAWEI CLOUD account balance to pay for your order. If your balance isinsufficient, click Top Up to recharge.

You can use Alipay, WeChat, or online banking services to pay for your order.
