The Social Media team uses Facebook, Twitter and other channels to create a digital extension of customers' store experience.

It builds relationships with Publix's online communities by answering questions about Publix, our products and our services.

This includes sharing information about new items, events, recipes, and store openings, and conducting online discussion with our customers.

Government Relations“A broader term that includes all forms of lobbying and non-lobbying activities that have the ultimate goal of influencing public policy” (Doorley and Garcia, 2015)

The Publix PAC is the lobbying force within the corporation. It’s office is located in Lakeland, FL.

According to the FEC, they fall under Food Processing & Sales industry as a “qualified non-party” PAC. Although 72% of contributions in this industry go to Republican candidates and officials.

Publix PAC directly corresponds with state and local governments. According to Center for Responsive Politics, they only donated to congress in the federal government.

Labor regulations, Rising Healthcare Costs (Affordable Care Act Repeal), Labeling regulations such as The Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act aka DARK (Deny Americans Right to Know Act), which was passed in the house in 2015, which would not require states to label genetically modified foods. PredictGov says 65% chance of being enacted.

Cultivate relationships with the news media and with residents, businesses, and public agencies in communities we serve. This team ensures that Publix is a responsible citizen in our communities.

Managers make determinations regarding sponsorships and donations, act as company spokespersons to the media throughout their respective divisions and are the official "face of Publix" at community events.
