Goals, Budget or Plans
Budgets, also referred to as cash flow plans, affect you today and in the future. Understanding the basics of realistic budgeting is a life-skill that will benefit you for years to come. There are many decisions to be made regarding your educational
future as well as your financial future. Here are a few steps toward meeting budget goals:
1. Decide on your goals, budget or plans; keep them SMART:
S: Specific (Name it and Claim it)
M: Measurable (What are the steps?)
A: Attainable (How will this occur?)
R: Realistic (Is it reasonable?)
T: Time Based (What is the deadline?)
Budget worksheets and calculators are available at www.navigatingyourfinancialfuture.org.
