1. Take a look at the gas

cap. Make sure it’s on

securely and it’s the

correct cap for your

vehicle.

2. Have your oil changed

before going in for your

test.

3. Make sure your brakes

are in good condition.

4. Check that there are no

signs of smoke coming

from your vehicle. If

there are visible ex-

haust fumes, it is a sign

of excess pollution and it will cause your vehi-

cle to fail the test

5. Do not overfill your gas

tank because the excess

gasoline could expand

and saturate a part of the emissions control

system resulting in in-

creased emissions.

6. Change your air filter

regularly so you can

keep dirt and other con-

taminants out of your car

engine.

7. Check your tire pressure

to ensure that they are

properly inflated. You

will get much better fuel

efficiency and it can pro-duce lower levels of

common-based emis-

sions.

receipts, and business cards

collected during the day.

7. Keep wipes in the glove

compartment for quick

clean-ups and sticky situa-

tions.

8. When stopping for gas

do a quick window clean-

ing.

9. Keep a stash of your

favorite scent or air deodor-

izers handy.

10. Take pride in your car .
