Commencement speaker. Mr. Grewe is presently the President and CEO of Saint-Gobain Containers, the second-largest glass container manufacturer

in the United States, with 13 plants throughout the US, and nearly 4,400 employees producing more than nine billion bottles and jars annually which are used by the wine, beer, beverage, spirits and food industry.

The company, based here in Muncie, is the successor to the well-known jar and bottle company founded in 1880 by the five brothers of the Ball family, who also created a teacher’s college and gifted it to the State of Indiana in 1917, and is known today as Ball State University. Thus the history & growth of this company that Mr. Grewe now leads is closely intertwined with the growth of Ball State and this region…...

Jeffrey Fetters | Executive in Residence | April 24, 2013 Introductory Speech 3:00pm

At this time, it gives me great pleasure to introduce one of Ball State University’s alumni, Jeffrey Fetters as our speaker for this afternoon. Mr. Fetters currently serves as the chairman, president and CEO of Federated Insurance. After graduating from Ball State in 1975 and receiving his degree in accounting, his career journey has included working in the farming industry, as a market representative, and progressively moving up the corporate ladder to CEO of Federated Insurance. Jim’s success is rooted in his belief that understanding his clients’ industry, organization, objectives, challenges, and people are essential to their mutual gains. His commitment to excellence, tireless work ethic, and genuine respect for others enable him to envision creative and pragmatic solutions and bring them to reality. Please welcome Jeffrey Fetters.
