The Cayley School’s Education Plan, commencing September 1, 2014, was prepared under the direction of the board in accordance with
responsibilities under the School Act and the Government Accountability Act. This education plan was developed in the context of the provincial
government’s business and fiscal plans. The school is committed to achieving the results laid out in this education plan. We recognize that our plan is an evolving document, receiving input from our stakeholders in an effort to
ensure a quality education for all students at Cayley School.

Cayley SchoolCayley School, situated in the hamlet of Cayley, is located approximately 12 km south of High River. We pride ourselves on our small school atmosphere and all it has to offer students, allowing for a community of learners to support each other on their pathway of learning. We are a K-8 school that focuses on improved learning for all in all four core subjects areas with an emphasis being put on Math and Language Arts.
We are very much committed to the arts at Cayley School. Our music education begins with a unique strings program in which all K-5 students learn to play the violin. What is learned in these grades helps provide a strong foundation for our excellent grade 6 through 8 Band program. For the first time, our grade 6 through 8 students now have the opportunity to continue with violin in the school through a noon hour fiddling club.
To further supplement our programming, students participate in our annual Missoula Theatre production. We also provide character education in addition to promoting environmental citizenship, a focus that is built on the back of our school recycling program and power provided to the school by our windmill and solar panels.
Finally, at Cayley School we are dedicated to providing athletic programming that emphasizes participation, commitment, and sportsmanship for the many students who are interested and choose to be involved.
“Cobras do whatever they can to be engaged learners, responsible and respectful citizens, as well as capable
individuals.”

Cayley School’s School Council
We are very fortunate to have a committed and actively involved School Council. Parents play a key role in our students’ success by supporting our school programs and being involved in their students’ learning. We continue to provide parent learning opportunities through a “Parents as Learners” segment at every School Council meeting. As well, the implementation of a new volunteer handbook helps provide the structure to best utilize the skills that each volunteer brings in achieving improved learning for all students within the school. Together, parents and staff help provide an environment where learning has the opportunity to flourish.
