• When all else fails!!• When called upon we fulfill one of the most important

• 97.1 Basis and purpose for Amateur Radio.• (a) Recognition and enhancement of the value of the
amateur service to the public as a voluntary noncommercial communication service, particularly with respect to providing emergency communications.

actual emergency• Keep equipment in good operating condition• Promotes Amateur Radio to others unfamiliar with the

• Rochester Tour de Cure is the #1 event in the US• Date: June 9, 2019• Start Location: Xerox Campus Webster, NY• Time: 6:30am - 4:00pm• Courses Supported: 100, 62.5, 40, 25, and 12 miles• (50) HAMS will support the course at rest stops and in SAG vehicles. SAGs
will transport cyclists to the nearest rest stop for repair or assistance.• Over 2,000 Riders raising >$1,000,000 for the ADA • Mobile, HT, and APRS are used to support the event

Communications Command Post is located near served agency operations personnel
● Cellular modem/router provides access to internet based services
○ Event logs and data are shared on Google Drive
○ VOIP access to emergency services and event participants via cell phone
○ ROIP access to event HAM repeaters via Allstar
○ ROIP access to event HAM repeaters via ARES Van
○ Situational display of APRS map and weather radar
● Commercial Radios or FRS radios are provide communications with the on-site agency representatives
● IP Link to ARES Van
