LOCATION OF CLASS
Students learn the knowledge and skills to safely scuba dive in open water. This Public Safety Open Water Scuba Certification instructs students on the methods, skills, and knowledge to safely scuba dive and approach subsequent dive training with competence and confidence. Classroom and pool sessions precede open water training.
5 Days / 40 contact hours
Public Safety Diver
US Coast Guard approved PFD with knife and whistle, adequate clothing and protection from the environment and pen and paper for note-taking and sketching. Diving students must provide their own equipment: wetsuit or drysuit, scuba regulator: recently serviced and environmentally protected with alternate air source (i.e.: octopus, Air II, etc.), timing device, depth and submersible pressure gauge, BC with oral/power inflator, two tanks with current Hydro & VIP, mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt and two cutting tools (knife, wire cutters, or trauma shears).
This training readies agency personnel for open water scuba diving and subsequent dive rescue, recovery, and investigation scuba training.
$685.00 (US Funds) per studentIncludes training manual and Datalog book
New Dive Team members needing open water certification, or individuals needing complete recertification.
