  • 2BikeboulevardseastofHollisStreetarerecommendedinthePedestrian/BikePlantohaveaveragedailyvehicletripsunder1,500.Thisleveloftrafficisarecommendation,andiftrafficincreasesoverthoseguidancelevels,theCityshouldconsiderfurthercalmingtreatmentstoreducethevolumeoftraffic.TheplansaysthattheCityshouldcollecttrafficdatawhensignificantdevelopmentoccurson/nearthatboulevardorwhensubstantialcommunityconcernisbroughttotheCity.Ourlasttrafficcountson45thStreetwerein2008,andvolumedidnotexceedthegoalof1,500averagedailyvehicletrips.Therehasbeennosignificantdevelopmentintheareathatwouldsuggesttraffichaschangedsubstantially.TheStateSWITRSdatabase,whichtrackscollisions,showsnobicycleinvolvedcollisionson45thStreetinatleastthepasttwoyears.Onlyonememberofthecommunityhasraisedaconcern.BrianDonahuemadeamotionintheMay4,2015BPACmeetingtorequestanewtrafficcounton45thStreet,andtheBPACvotednottosupportthatmotion.SincetherehasbeennoconcernexpressedbeyondBrianDonahues,therehavebeennoreportedcollisionsinvolvingbicycleson45thStreet,andtheBPACconsideredandvotednottopursuetheissue,theCityisnotmakingitapriorityatthistime.NancyHumphreyEnvironmentalProgramsSupervisorCityofEmeryville1333ParkAvenueEmeryville,CA94608Tel.5105963728
