Public Lecture“From Incremental to Disruptive Innovation”
byDr. R. A. Mashelkar, FRS
Lecture Abstract
Incremental innovation is the norm but disruptive innovation is an exception.Disruptive innovation has invariably arisen due to out of the box and lateral thinking, appetite for risk taking and even serendipity. Disruptive innovation changes the waywe live and work, leads to creative destruction of businesses and also dramaticallychanges the geopolitics. The lecture will lay out a path forward for building an Indianinnovation ecosystem that fosters the movement from incremental to disruptiveinnovation and helps create ‘next’ practices – not just ‘best’ practices.
