Public Hospitals and Dispensaries (Amendment) Regulations 2012

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 6 of the Public Hospitals and Dispensaries Act (Cap. 110), I hereby make these Regulations—

Short title and commencement1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Hospitals and Dispensaries

(Amendment) Regulations 2012, and shall come into force on a date appointed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

(2) The Public Hospitals and Dispensaries Regulations shall be referred to as the “Principal Regulations”.

New regulation inserted2. The Principal Regulations is amended by inserting the following new regulation

after regulation 48—“Non-payment of charges

49. For the avoidance of doubt and notwithstanding anything contained in these Regulations, the charges contained in the First Schedule shall not be payable by any person who is a patient, including outpatient, of any public hospital and who is not referred to any public hospital by any private hospital or a private medical or dental practitioner.”
