Why Revolving Fund?
• Able to use reimbursements from Medicare and private insurers for vaccine purchase• Revolving funds are used as a mechanism to purchase vaccines in
Burlington, Natick, Wayland, Newton, Weston, and Wellesley • Goal is to expand vaccine program beyond flu and offer new clinics for
shingles, pneumococcal, TDAP, and for pandemic response to disease• Ease of response to pandemic disease• Reimbursements will be used to offset the health department’s
budget allocation for annual vaccine purchase
Why have Vaccine Program?

Flu Season Report
• Health Department vaccinated 462 residents in the 2014-2015 Flu season• From this vaccination cycle we could have generated approximately
$7,000 in revenue• Our approximate purchase cost for vaccine for the 2015-2016
influenza season is also around $7,000• Funds from the revolving account will subsidize rising vaccine costs
