HM PRISONS – PUBLIC HEALTH DRAINAGE It is now over 20 years since KONAFLEX Limited became involved in the planning and supply of single cell and associated waste drainage systems. There are several ways in which prefabrication has an advantage over site-built components systems, adaptability, minimum use of space and not least basic cost. It is important that our Customers realise these benefits. Therefore what follows below is an appraisal that should address most queries. A Practical Solution In Prison cells, as in many other locations, the use of room, particularly for service systems, can be limited. Prefabrication offers the opportunity to achieve complex layouts in a minimum of space as can be seen in the examples attached. Quality and Standards

Constructed to BS 3868 for prefabricated drainage stack units: galvanised steel. KONAFLEX manufacture mainly from a specifically manufactured tube BS EN 10219 a circular seamless hollow section, however should contract specification demand we will adapt our process to suit other line pipes such as BS 1387/BS 3601 schedule 20 etc. All mild steel pipe work is galvanized to BS 1461:1999 after manufacture (GAM). Trimming of galvanized pipe is permissible but cut ends must be painted with a suitable zinc rich paint. Our manufacturing is subject to a QA process that realises material traceability and finished goods are coded to assist site operatives in location and assembly. All public health drainage pipe work is built to meet the requirements of BS EN 12056 2:2000 (formerly BS 5572). The Full System The KONAFLEX range allows Consultants, Architects and Engineers to design without many of the constraints of component pipe work. Our Design Team will adapt a brief to suit and display how fabrication and fewer joints can enhance the scheme, provide further costs savings through limited bracketry, less potential leaks and easier testing whilst maintaining flexibility and increasing speed of installation. The Client can expect KONAFLEX pipe work to last in excess of 50 years without risk of material failure.

The Engineering Service Appointment of a KONAFLEX Engineer to process requirements, site attendance as required for key survey information. To use co-ordinated detail in CAD form and process to show GMS option, jointing and identification etc. suitable for installation and/or record purposes.
