1. Boarding announcements

1.1 Boarding announcement short haul – With boarding groups Public announcements minimum 35 minutes before boarding or where needed due to local facilities or other conditions, the time for manning the gate must be in accordance to fulfil the OTP (On-Time Performance) requirements of the Company. Call for and inform about:

• Priority boarding • Boarding groups • Carry-on baggage

“Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies & gentlemen. Before boarding of Norwegian flight (flight number) to (destination) please listen to the following announcement. To ease the boarding process, please check your boarding group on your boarding card. We will commence boarding passengers needing special assistance followed by Group A. We’ll then board passengers in Group B and finally passengers in Group C.“ [if hand bag check: “We have limited storage space onboard so we will now be checking your hand baggage to ensure it meets our requirements”]

For at boardingen skal gå så fort som mulig ber vi deg sjekke hvilken boardinggruppe som står på boardingkortet ditt. Passasjerer som trenger ekstra assistanse går om bord først etterfulgt av passasjerer i Gruppe A. För at underlätta ombordstigningen, vänligen kontrollera er boardinggrupp på boardingkortet. Passagerare som behöver särskild assistans är välkomna att gå ombord först följt av grupp A. 2 Delays Information shall be transparent for the passenger. All delays shall be announced with the correct reason.

2.1 Delayed Arrival Effect – Delayed Departure Public announcements minimum 10 minutes prior to STD/ETD. “This information is for passengers traveling on Norwegian flight DY XXX to XXX. 2.2 Unknown Length of the Delay – Unknown ETD Public announcements minimum 10 minutes prior to STD/ETD. “This information is for passengers travelling on Norwegian flight DY XXX to XXX. We regret to inform you that this flight will be delayed due to ……. (reason for delay*). Unfortunately, at this time we don’t know the exact time of departure, however we ask all passengers to remain in the departure hall. We will provide more information regarding your new departure time as soon as possible”. Reasons for delay*:

2.3 New Info Public announcements should be repeated every 30 minutes until you know the arrival time of the aircraft. “This information is for passengers traveling on Norwegian flight DY XXX to XXX. We regret to inform you that we don’t have a new departure time for this flight. We will provide more information regarding your new departure time as soon as possible.”

4 Volunteers for denied boarding Always make an announcement looking for volunteers for denied boarding when the flight is overbooked. Most of the overbookings are denied boarding for a compensation, but in some cases when it’s due to irregularities a compensation will not be paid. Please contact OCC-IRR if you have questions if a specific flight is eligible or not. See GOM for more information about overbookings and denied boarding,

5.2 Messages for Departing Passengers “Norwegian is paging Mr/Mrs XXX XXX, travelling on flight DY XXX for XXX. Please contact the customer centre (on the xx floor/at check-in counter XX/at gate XX). (Repeat)”

5.3 Messages at Arrival “Norwegian is paging Mr./Mrs. XXX XXX, recently arrived from XXX on flight DY XXX. Please contact arrival service/customer centre (on the XX floor). (Repeat)”

5.4 Wet lease of aircraft When the Company utilizes a wet leased aircraft, it is mandatory to announce the actual company name flying the wet lease to the passengers. The following announcement must be included: “We would like to bring to your attention that today’s departure are operated by xxxx”.

5.5 Hand baggage check When you have a hand baggage check at the gate you should make this announcement so the passenger is being prepared during the check. “To ensure boarding goes smoothly and avoid delays, we’ll now be checking hand baggage to make sure it meets our requirements.”

5.6 Hand baggage When you have a full flight you can use this announcement to ask for volunteers to check in the hand luggage free of charge.
