Porosity: is the percent volume of the rock that is not occupied by solid.

Permeability: is a measure of the ease with which a fluid can flow through a rock.

The two sides of the disk contain beads of two different sizes.

The more space between the grains, the more porous the rock is.

The more flow pathways through the grains, the more permeable the rock is.
