The original PTR rifle was first con-ceived in 2002, when a predeces-sor company purchased tooling and designs for the H&K line of roller-lock weapons from Fabrica Militar of Portugal. Initially, small quantities HK-91 clone rifles were produced, mostly from surplus parts acquired around the world. From 2002-2006, the reputation of the PTR 91 rifle grew considerably along with the market for it.

PTR 91 Inc. was organized in 2006 to meet that demand. Over the next few years, the company consistently grew its capabilities. Expanding beyond the original 91 clone, PTR began to introduce many other models and variants to suit differ-ent shooting applications. Today the company is known affectionately as just PTR, due to the fact that the product offerings have expanded well beyond the original PTR 91 rifle.

PTR now stands light-years away from its humble beginnings. The com-pany was re-organized in 2010 with new management, new capital, new focus, and higher expectations. To-day, PTR is a full-fledged 21st century firearms manufacturing firm, capable of much more than just clone rifles. Rather than just assembly personnel and work-benches in the early years, PTR now employs gunsmiths, engineers, toolmakers, and machinists who work with state of the art technology to bring our customers a truly modern firearm. PTR is also no longer dependent on foreign surplus markets it has the capability to produce every part for PTR rifles right here in the United States. The company has also drastically improved its resources in customer service and support. PTR today produces fine quality firearms in multiple calibers for a variety of applications across the shooting disciplines.

The new PTR is committed to providing top-quality firearms to the most discerning shooters be they military, law-enforcement, or civilian. Along with this commitment comes the obligation to stand by every part and fire-arm that leaves the factory, and provide the customer an excellent experience long after their purchase comes out of the box.

Developed using the same prints and tooling used by the H&K licensed FMP plant in Portugal, PTR is proud to deliver the most reliable G3-type rifle on the market today.

Compact Firearms with Superior Firepower:When superior firepower is necessary to provide defense, PTRs line of P.D.W.s (Personal Defense Weapons) bring the power of long range rifle caliber rounds into a compact handheld package.

With an overall length of 23.5 and an 8.375 barrel, the PDW is the most compact firearm PTR has to offer.

To minimize recoil, the PDW is equipped with a pistol buttcap that houses a full size .308 recoil buffer system.

The PTR 32 series of carbines are designed using new and unique inter-nal components which bring the inherent accuracy and reliability of the roller-lock weapons operating system into the arena of the 7.62x39 (AK-47) caliber. A similar design was released by H&K to special units around the world in limited quantities some time ago, and has been intensely sought after by collectors since. Through this inspiring design, PTR has been able to achieve higher accuracy, longer effective range, and supreme reliability from the 7.62x39 caliber, resulting in a truly revolutionary weapons sys-tem.

Due to popular demand, PTR will launch the 2nd generation of PTR 32 carbines. After col-lecting feedback from our community of roller-lock weapons enthusiasts, PTR has identified several areas of opportunity to improve the design and performance of the 7.62x39 PTR 32 weapons system as well as reduce production costs, passing the savings along to you!

Here are some of the changes that you can expect to see:

NEW BARREL DESIGN! PTR has designed a new 16 tapered barrel that will reduce weight and costs, all while maintaining the accuracy of the Gen 1 PTR 32 platform.

NEW HANDGUARD! PTR recognized that by replacing the heavier aluminum handguard with a black slimline polymer handguard we would be able to reduce the overall weight of the 32, reduce the cost, and bring a better feel of balance to the shooter.

ACCEPTS MORE AK-47 MAGAZINES! One of the most important design changes that PTR tackled when creating the new PTR 32 was to allow a wider variety of AK-47 magazines to be used with the rifle. PTRs new latch system will allow for a wider range of magazines both new and surplus to fit and feed properly with the PTR 32.

DRUM MAGAZINES NOW COMPATIBLE! The feedback from the shooting community made clear that allowing the use of AK-47 drums is a must! PTR has designed a new receiver for the PTR 32 that will allow the use of many AK-47 drums.
