SIMPLE POOL CAREPROBLEM SOLVING

1. First Test Water and Adjust Total Alkalinity & pH.• See water balance below.

2. Dirty Water:• Scoop up leaves, vacuum, backwash & clean filter.• Use a Flocculant to settle all debris on the pool floor before vacuuming to waste.• Use a Clarifier & filter water to remove all debris.

3. Algae - Blackspot, Mustard, Brown & Green:• For green water use a Flocculant to settle all debris on the pool floor before

vacuuming to waste.• For all blackspot, mustard & wall based algae brush walls & use Pool Blocks® or Pool

Drops® Plus All Seasons Algicides.

4. Stains & Scale:• Remove stains caused by leaves, sticks & algae + iron, calcium, manganese & copper.• Use SpotBloc™ for spot stain & calcium water scum line removal.• Use Heavy Duty SeriouStain™ Remover for a full pool surface treatment.• Use SeriouStain™ Inhibitor to prevent mineral stains from bore water & other minerals.

5. Smelly Chlorine Odour:• Shock pool water with Oxyclear® to remove smelly chloramines & organic material.

6. Cloudy Water:• Clean filter and use either a Flocculant or Clarifier.• Replace some pool water with fresh water to reduce hardness.

MAINTENANCE1. Test & Maintain Equipment:

• Test Chlorine, pH & Alkalinity (TA) levels regularly.• Clean filters, vacuum, adjust water levels & maintain equipment.

2. Water Balance • TA (80 – 120ppm) Reduces pH fluctuations. with Buffer.• pH (7.2 – 7.6) for Chlorine efficiency. with Buffer or with Acid.• Hardness (180 – 280ppm) with Calcium Chloride.

3. Algae Treatment & Prevention• Use Pool Blocks® or Pool Drops® Plus All Seasons Algicides.• Kill blackspot, mustard, brown and green algae.• Prevents organic growth reducing chlorine demand.

4. Filtration• Filter for 6 hours min in summer & use a Clarifier to keep water clear.

5. Sanitation - Chlorine• Chlorine ( 1.5 – 3.0ppm ) to kill germs and bacteria.• Maintain correct salt levels.• Add stabiliser in the summer to reduce chlorine loss.• Shock water regularly with Oxyclear®, recycles Bromine in Spas.

6. Winterising• Clean pool, filter, balance pH & TA, reduce filter running times.• Use Pool Blocks® or Pool Drops® Plus All Seasons Algicides.• Add Chlorine in small monthly doses.
