LCD Projectors
PT-LB80 Series
Panasonic’s new PT-LB80 Series LCD pro-
jectors are ideal for anyone who wants an
easy-to-use projector but doesn’t want to
compromise on image quality and perform-
ance. The highly advanced dust-resistant
design minimises image degradation by
reducing the entry of dust into the unit. The
design includes “gapless” touch-sensor con-
trols on the top panel and an airtight struc-
ture that concentrates the air intake into a
single location. Panasonic’s original Daylight
View 4 feature provides bright, crisp images
even in brightly lit conditions. The network
models*1 also include an easy-to-use wire-
less function. In short, the PT-LB80 Series
incorporates the unique essence and versa-
tility of Panasonic projector technologies
while maintaining an elegant design.

Market introduction: Q3 2008
Dust-Resistant Structure MinimisesImage DegradationAfter a projector has been used for some time, dust particles that have entered the interioraccumulate on the optical components and lower performance. The PT-LB80 Seriesprevents this with a unique dust-resistantdesign. This totally redesigned package hastouch-sensor controls that eliminate the gapsaround conventional buttons and a lens cover. The design also incorporates a cover that pro-tects the zoom/focus ring when not in use. These features combine to help reduce dustentry. Inside the projector, the airflow is effi-ciently controlled by a structure that reducescontact between external air and the opticalcomponents. This all works together with thehigh-performance Micro Cut Filter to minimiseimage degradation.
Daylight View 4 Offers Clear, CrispImages Even in Bright Surroundings* 2
The PT-LB80 Series features Panasonic’s Day-light View 4 technology. Sharp edges areachieved with the new “Edge Enhancer Con-trol” and “Gamma Curve Control.” Remarkabledetail is provided and perceived brightness andcontrast are enhanced, so images appearcrisp, vivid, 3-dimensional and easy to seeeven in brightly lit rooms. Daylight View 4 alsoincludes a built-in ambient light sensor thatautomatically detects room brightness andadjusts operation accordingly.
Wide Images (PT-LW80NTEA)The PT-LW80NTEA features wide-aspect LCDpanels, which allow native reproduction ofWXGA (1,280 x 800) images from a computer. This provides a visually powerful display ofwide-screen images from DVD sources, as wellas wide-screen images from wide-aspect com-puters, which is already the mainstream.

When projecting images from a source with a wide aspect ratio onto a 4:3 screen, the projector reduces the image to use only75% of the screen area. Also, wide-screen projection makes it possible to display larger images where the room for the screenheight is limited.

Easy Wireless ProjectionWith the wireless capability of the PT-LB80NTEA/LW80NTEA/LB75NTEA, you don’tneed cables to connect a PC, either Windows®
or Mac®. That means it’s easy to bring in alaptop (with a wireless LAN function) and deliv-er a smooth, hassle-free presentation. You canmake the connection settings quickly and easi-ly using the supplied Wireless Manager ME 5.0software. When the presentation is finished,Wireless Manager restores the PC to its previ-ous LAN settings, so the PC is ready to recon-nect to your LAN.
Multi Live Mode: Wireless Projectionfrom Multiple PCsThe network models (PT-LB80NTEA/LW80NTEA/LB75NTEA) provide a host of convenient wire-less functions, including Live mode and Multi-Live mode. In Live mode, the image projectedis identical to the image seen on the PCscreen. In Multi-Live mode, you can wirelesslyconnect with multiple PCs.Other wireless functions include WirelessPrompter (Secondary Display Transmission),selective area transmission, and a 16-windowindex style that lets you project images fromup to 16 PCs at the same time. Wirelesstransmission is possible from one PC to amaximum of eight projectors at a time.
Selective Area TransmissionBy circling any area of the image, you canspecify the necessary information to enlargeand display that area on the projection screen.
Projector Signal MapThe signal map graphically shows the strengthof wireless connection signals. This is conven-ient, for example, when several projectors arebeing used in adjacent school classroomsbecause it lets the user know which projectoris to be used.
Extended Mac OS X CompatibilityIn addition to its Windows Vista® compatibility,Wireless Manager ME 5.0 is fully compatiblewith Mac OS X 10.4/10.5.* 3

Quick Operation• Three-Second Speed Start: With SpeedStart, the image appears in about three sec-onds after you press the power button.• Auto Search: When a source is connectedand you switch the unit on, it automaticallydetects what kind of source is connected andbegins projection.• Real-Time Keystone Correction: The pro-jector automatically senses if you adjust itsangle (vertical direction) during operation andinstantly makes whatever keystone correctionis necessary for optimum viewing.• Direct Power Off: Because the cooling fankeeps operating until the lamp is cooled, youcan disconnect the power cable and move theprojector as soon as your presentation is fin-ished, or turn off the room's main power whenthe unit is mounted on the ceiling.
Ceiling-Installation CapabilityThe projector can be permanently installed onthe ceiling by using the optional ET-PKB80ceiling mount bracket.
Abundant Connection TerminalsDesigned for versatility, each projector comesequipped with a host of connection terminals. The RS-232C specifications are the same asin previous Panasonic models, so replacementis quick and easy.
Easy Lamp Replacement from the RearFor easier maintenance, you can replace thelamp from the rear. The lamp is easilyreplaced even after the projector is installed onthe ceiling.
Easy-to-Use Remote ControlThe control range and distance have beenextended compared to previous models, andthe buttons are now larger and easier to use.

• The projector uses a high-voltage mercury lamp that contains high internal pressure. This lamp maybreak, emitting a large sound, or fail to illuminate, due to impact or extended use. The length of timethat it takes for the lamp to break or fail to illuminate varies greatly depending on individual lampcharacteristics and usage conditions.
• The brightness of the lamp will gradually decrease with use.• The projector includes consumable parts. The frequency of replacement for the lamp and other con-
sumable parts will increase if the projector is subjected to extended, continuous use. For details, please consult a service representative.
