    Priorities

We often get in situations when we take decisions without a second thought and this is the right moment to find out what they mean.

What would you do first if you were in a situation where:The baby is crying.

The clothes are hanging outside and it has started to rain.

The water is running from the tap.

    The doorbell is ringing.

    The phone is ringing.

Think about what you will do first, then second and so on.

Scroll down to see the explanation.

Each action reflects the priorities that you have set in your life.

For example if the first thing that you did was to answer the phone then your biggest priority in life would be your career and job. Similarly if the fourth thing that you did was to attend to the baby then your fourth priority would be your family.

Take a look at the following table to see which priority corresponds to which action.

    Action Priority

    Attend to the baby

    Family

    Pick up the clothes

How many people do you see?

    a. Hundreds.

    b. A few dozen.

    c. One or two.

    d. None.

How far are the nearest people?

    a. Close by.

    b. Not very far off.

    c. Way off in the distance.

    d. The beach is deserted.

    Analysis

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    3/42

    The room represents childhood.

The room's comfort level represents your childhood experiences. Inviting surroundings suggest a pleasant childhood, whilst uninviting surroundings suggest an unexciting or sad childhood.

The number of furnishings and the degree of detail in your description show howmany childhood memories you have. A room bare of any furnishings suggests a complete absence of childhood memories, while an averagely furnished room suggests normal memories of childhood. A room filled with furniture might suggest persisting memories of childhood.

Choosing to leave the room demonstrates a readiness to grow upWanting to stay in the room indicates a reluctance to grow up.

Note: Choosing to leave the room does not imply an unpleasant childhood, while choosing to remain in the room does not imply an unhappy adolescence.

The seaside is symbolic of how you relate to people around you. How many peopleyou pictured relates to the number of people you want around you. An extraverted, gregarious person feels energized in the company of a large number of people.People who see a deserted seaside are more introverted and feel more content spe

nding longer periods of time on their own.

If you saw hundreds of people, crowded bars and clubs can feel like your secondhome. You are quite a social animal, and at times, you may also like an audience.

If you saw a few dozen people, you feel comfortable in social gatherings, bars and clubs, you may even seek them out.

If you saw one or two people then you do not like to spend a whole lot of time in bars or clubbing. You can be charming and social, but you are often content being alone. The vast majority of people see a beach with one or two people on it.

If you did not see any people, you are least likely to feel comfortable in a crowded club or bar. You are often content with your own company and may even avoidcertain crowded places.

Where you see people on the beach is also symbolic of how you relate to people around you. If you saw people close by, then you are sociable and can be quite achatterbox at times.

If the people seemed far away you are usually quiet and reserved. For you, actions speak louder than words. However you still need friends that are prepared tolisten whenever you need them, or someone to talk to about your day.

    Driving in a new city

You and your partner are driving somewhere in a new city and you are not familiar with the roads.

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    4/42

You follow the directions given to you by your partner. It soon turns out, however, that you are lost.

What are you most likely say?

    A. "I thought you knew how to get there."

    B. "It's ok. We enjoyed the drive anyway."

    C. "I should have paid attention. When we made that left turn, I wanted to ask you about it but didn't. My fault."

    Analysis

A: "I thought you knew how to get there."

Not a very forgiving person, you are quick in assigning responsibility to others. Hidden in the accusatory tone is also anger or dissatisfaction that may or maynot be related to the incident per se.

B: "It's ok. We enjoyed the drive anyway."

Easygoing and understanding in your attitude, you generally consider your partner equal to yourself. The readiness with which you tolerate your partner's errors

indicates a desire to be treated the same way in similar situations.

C: "I should have paid attention. When we made the left turn back over there, Iwanted to ask you about it but didn't. My fault."

Self-effacing and self-accusatory, you demonstrate a tendency to bending over backwards to accommodate your partner. The relationship may be a truly sweet one,but possibly hidden in the attitude is also a certain amount of insecurity.

    Oasis

Your views on some of life's crucial decisions.

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    5/42

    1. A box is lying in the road. What is inside?

    2. If you could choose one place to live the rest of your life, where would it be?

    3. You have been wandering around lost in the desert all day when you suddenly you see a village in the distance. You also notice an oasis not too far away. Where do you decide to go?

    4. What would you do if you suddenly lost everything?

5 Tomorrow is Sunday. What are you going to do?

    6. If you get into a tight spot, who would you go to for help?

    7. What age would you like to be for the rest of your life?

    8. If someone told you that you had just 24 hours to live, how would you spend them?

    9. If you could save only one thing from a fire, what would it be?

    Analysis

    1. Your answer reveals what kind of luck you think you will have in an unexpected circumstance.

If you imagined something that is of no value to you, then you believe that goodluck is out of reach. If you imagined something valuable such as treasure, thenyou believe that it will definitely be yours someday. If there is nothing in the box then you don't believe in luck. Reality is built on practicalities.

    2. If you chose the place where you live already, your life is comfortable and gratifying. If you chose a far away destination, you are a dreamer or a romantic. If you can't decide where to live then you have no strong attachment or loyalties.

    3. You answer describes your personal work ethic.

If you go to the oasis, you prefer to play first and work later. You dislike rules and regulations and can be impulsive at times. You procrastinate and you like to multitask.

If you go straight to the village then you like to assume responsibility. You know how to make good use of your time and you plan your day carefully. You preferfinishing projects rather than starting them and you take deadlines seriously.

    4. Those who would look to make a fresh start are likely to be people who take responsibility for their actions and don't simply react to life's circumstances.

    5. Your answer describes your spending habits. Sunday is a day you are free to use however you want. Having freedom to do whatever you want is like having money to spend however you want.

If you decide to stay home and take it easy you spend as little as possible. Ifyou go shopping you generally spend whatever you have. If you do a sport you save for a rainy day. If you go out for a walk you spend carefully.

    6. Those who would try to fix things themselves are self assured and strong char

acters. Those who turn to friends or family are a little insecure and are not ready to accept full responsibility in difficult situations. Those who seek practical advice from a lawyer or other professional are realists.

    7. The age you choose generally represents the period when you were happiest andhad a lot of self confidence. Those who wish to return totheir childhood years long for the period where they had no responsibility. Those who choose their present age are emotionally mature and successful. People over forty generally choose an age ten years younger.

    8. If you chose close friends and family, you have an emotional and sentimentalnature. If you would rather be alone, then you might be moody and discontented. If you chose to party and have a good time, you submit to fate with your composure intact. If you would keep the knowledge to yourself and spend the day as usual, you are brave and resilient.

    9. If it's a photo album or something similar then you are sentimental. If the object is an article of clothing to cover yourself, you are cautious and conventional. If choose something that has a high monetary value you are rather materialistic. If you choose your passport or laptop, you are practical.

    The cube

You are in a desert and you see a cube.

It is preferable for you to draw a picture and write your answers.

Try to concentrate on how you feel about what you are describing and not just onhow it looks. For example, you may describe the cube a certain color because itgives you a feeling of calmness. However, another person may describe the cubea different color that also gives her a sense of calmness. Though both people picture the cube differently, the interpretations of their answers are the same -the cube represents calmness to them.

    5. There is a flower/ there are flowers.

How many flowers are there?Where is/are the flower/s?What is the color of the flower/s?How do you feel about the flower/s?

    Answers:

Cube : The cube represents yourself. How you think about the cube reflects how you think about yourself. For example, you may think the cube is made of yellow stones. Yellow may give you a feeling of warmth and stone may give you a feelingof strength. Then, it means that you believe that you are a strong and warm person. The distance between you and the cube reflects your understanding about yourself. If the cube is far away, then it means that you do not feel close to your

inner self. If the cube is transparent, that means you let people see through you. People can read your mind easily. The ratio of the cube to the desert is howyou think about yourself in this world. The bigger the ratio, the bigger your ego is. A small ratio means that you recognize that you are just one part of thisworld and there are many other things out there beside you.

Ladder : The ladder represents your friends. If the ladder is leaning against the cube, then it means that your friends depend on you. If the ladder is supporting the cube, that means you depend on your friends. The distance between the ladder and the cube indicates if you feel close to your friends or not. Again, howyou feel about the ladder reflects how you feel about your friends (e.g.. what you feel about the color of the ladder and the material it is made of).

Horse : The horse is your lover. If the horse is close to the cube, then it means that you are close to your lover. If the horse is tied or has a saddle on it,then it means that you like to control your lover. As before, the impression ofthe horse reflects the impression you have of your lover.

Storm : The storm is the obstacle in your life. If the storm is close to the cube/ stationary, then you are always experiencing hardship in your life. If the storm is small, then it means the obstacle in your life is quite small.

Flower/s : The flower represents your offspring/ If the flower is close to the cube, that means you are close to your children. Again, what you feel about the flower indicates the feelings you have towards your children.

    4. Key

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    9/42

You continue to walk along the path in the forest until you stumble upon something. You turn around and notice that it's a key.

    1. Describe the key.2. What do you think it unlocks?

    Analysis

    1. Forest

The forest represents how you felt about the world, as you were growing up. If you see squirrels playing then you felt that the world was a safe place.

The trees and the light in the forest represent the interaction that you had with adults as you were growing up, and the impact that this interaction had on you.

The taller the trees, the more influence adults had on your life.

The lighting represents the authority adults had over you. The brighter the forest, the more you felt you had the freedom to do as you wanted and the happier you must have felt growing up. Note: being given a lot of freedom does not imply

that you were in any way neglected.

The darker the forest, the more restrictions you felt were placed on you, and the more likely you were to find yourself in stressful situations.

    2.Path

Adolescence is represented by the path through the forest.

The path's visibility indicates how prepared you were to handle situations during adolescence. The more visible the path, the more successful you were at antici

pating changes, and facing challenges. A less visible path means you were less aware of what to expect and therefore some events may have left you feeling perplexed and bewildered.

Multiple paths are important choices that had to be made. If you saw many paths, you either saw many opportunities for yourself, or you were very confused aboutwhat choices to make.

The width of the path indicates room for emotional growth. The wider the path the more opportunities existed for emotional growth.

Meeting fellow travelers along the way, or a tidy and well maintained path, areindications of a frequently used path. A path that is not so frequently used, ma

y have weeds and be scattered with litter. The more traveled the path, the lessevidence there is of feeling isolated from your friends and family. Note: belonging to a small family or having a small circle of friends does not necessarily mean that you did not receive enough support.

Obstructions are the way that we perceive problems in adolescence. The more rocks, weeds and logs we see along the path, the more we feel that certain circumstances prevented us from accomplishing our goals.

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    10/42

    3. Bear

    1. The bear is symbolic of problems and how you deal with them. The question gave you the chance to see a potentially dangerous situation. If you saw a tame, harmless bear or a young playful bear, or even a teddy, then your life is stress free and when faced with a problem you see a challenge or opportunity instead.

If you saw a menacing bear then you are more likely to see problems rather thancreative challenges or opportunities. People under routine stress will see large, dangerous bears.

    2. If the bear has not seen you, or has seen you but is doing cute 'bear type' things, then you are not under everyday stress and you do not have many real problems. When presented with a problem you prefer to focus on the solution.

If the bear has seen you but is ignoring you, then although you may be worried or anxious about something, you are not under unhealthy levels of stress.

If the bear is looking threatening or is coming right at you, you need a holiday! You are likely to be under high levels of stress.

    3. How you continue your journey represents how you are affected by stress, howyou deal with challenges, and also how you make decisions.

If you walk up to the bear, you face your problems head on, and you take a direct and pragmatic approach to decision making

If you avoid the bear you may think your problems are insurmountable, and you prefer a more indirect, non-confrontational approach to decision making.

If you ignore the bear, you pay little attention to setbacks and you are not affected by stress.

If you were considering adoption, then you have a healthy approach towards lifeand everyday challenges.

    6. Key

The key represents work related interests. The key's appearance reveals how other people see your career, and the key's function reveals your career goals.

    1. Appearance (how other people see your career)

The more ornamental the key, the more you prefer a career that is remarkable, distinctive or unique.

Outdated or antiquated keys show you feel more comfortable in a conventional orlong established career.

    2. Function (career goals)

If the key opens everyday things such as cars and school lockers then your expectations about your career in terms of wealth, joy and accomplishments are averag

    e.

Keys to royal residences, castles, fortresses or mansions reveal a desire for power.

If the key is able to unlock and open a number of things then you are probably undecided and unsure about which career path to follow.

Keys to items or places along the way, reveal a desire to choose a career that will solve a challenge.

Keys that allow access to valuable things such as a treasure box, indicate a desire to accumulate wealth.

Keys to personal belongings such as diaries or lockets indicate that a fulfilling career is one which addresses other people's needs.

If the key is of little use or value, you are rather pessimistic about finding arewarding and fulfilling career.

A magical key or a key to a magical world may reveal excessively optimistic expectations from a career.

If you are unsure as to what the key may open, you have not yet defined your car

    The bridge

Two goats meet at a bridge

There is a very narrow bridge over a river. One day a goat that was crossing thi

s bridge met another goat just in the middle. There was no room for both of themto pass.

Which of the following can you imagine as the most likely scenario?

    A. One goat willingly turned back to let the other goat pass first.

    B. The two goats charged against each other, and, after a few rounds of confront

ation, the stronger goat forced the loser to yield.

    C. One goat lay down on the bridge, and the other goat walked lightly over him.

    D. The two goats charged against each other and both fell off the bridge and into the deep river below.

    E. One goat retraced its way and waited for the other goat to come over; then, instead of going over to the other side, it stayed to play and graze with its newfriend.

    Analysis

    A. Courteous and flexible. You believe in rational solutions to life's challenges, and, to achieve that goal, you are willing to make concessions and compromises.

    B. You are confrontational in your approach to life. You have a thirst for powerand usually take an all or nothing approach to life. You could be merciless, even though you do not always turn out to be the victor.

    C. You act in a way that benefits the common good. You are wise and avoid confro

ntation when it is not called for. While you may appear submissive to some people, in reality you have a high self esteem that enables you to be warm-hearted and generous to others.

    D. You hold a rather pessimistic view of human nature and are cynical about theworld in general. You are weary of all the struggles and scuffles around you andgenerally tend to believe that things are headed in the wrong direction. You value peace of mind above most things even though to attain it requires a struggle.

    E. Quite the idealist! Optimistic and upbeat, you believe that everything is possible. Generous and broad-minded, you want to enjoy life as much as you can andwant to make as many friends as you can. Even though this hopelessly positive view of the world sometimes lets you down, it also does you a whole lot good as people enjoy being around you.

    Robin Hood

Forget any preconceived ideas you may about the characters in this Sherwood forest tale - this is a different sort of story from all the others. The sheriff of Nottingham captured Little John and Robin Hood and imprisoned them in his maximum security dungeon. Maid Marion begged the Sheriff for their release, pleading her love for Robin. The Sheriff agreed to release them only if Mai

d Marion spent the night with him.

    To this she agreed.

The next morning the Sheriff released his prisoners. Robin asked that Marion tell him how she persuaded the Sheriff to let them go free.

Marion told the truth, and was bewildered when Robin said that he never wanted to see her again.

At this Little John defended her, inviting her to leave Sherwood with him and promising life-long devotion. She accepted and they rode away together.

Now in terms of realistic every-day standards of behavior, place Robin, Marion,Little John and the Sheriff in the order in which you consider they showed the most morality and honesty (from most moral to least moral).

There is no "right" answer. What follows is an analysis based on which of the 24possible arrangements you chose.

    Analysis

Little John, Maid Marion, Robin Hood, The Sheriff

You are fairly broadminded, romantic and reasonably contented. You value kindness greatly and try to live by your ideals. You do not conceal from yourself, or from others, your strong need for security, which may be either emotional or material.

Men: Perhaps you tend to idealize women and credit them with virtues they don'tpossess.

Women: Your experiences of men have not all been happy, perhaps because you hopefor a little too much?

This combination represents 15% of total, 15% of men and 16% of women

Little John, Maid Marion, The Sheriff, Robin Hood

You are the slightly romantic realist. You respect truth, and are broadminded and flexible. Whether you are a man or a woman you are probably a happy person. You like people and they can readily make friends with you. You are not very adventurous, but this does not bother you.

This combination represents 10% of total, 9% of men and 10% of women

Little John, Robin Hood, Maid Marion, The Sheriff

You are a cautious type, neutral, and rather insecure. You would agree with theidea that everybody has his price - and in your own case it would not be high.

Men: You are sexually inhibited with an underlying distrust of women.

Women: At least one man has made you unhappy, and you are now on your guard.

    14/42

This combination represents 6% of total, 6% of men and 5% of women

Little John, Robin Hood, The Sheriff, Maid Marion

You are not easy to assess. Basically you are ruled by an inferiority complex and feelings of insecurity. How do you present yourself to the world? An idealist,a moralist, a conformist keeping up with the Joneses?

Men: Your conflicting views on sex and morality may lead to every sort of sexualproblem. You have always feared women, probably starting with your mother.

Women: It is a shame you have not accepted the ideal of woman as the equal (andsometimes stronger) partner of man.

This combination represents 2% of total, 2% of men and 2% of women

Little John, The Sheriff, Maid Marion, Robin Hood

You too, believe that morality is another word for commonsense and suitability,

and not something which is universally valid or a religious truth. Your feelingfor security is strong, and you would rate reliability as one of your virtues.

Men: Your estimate of women as the inferior sex suggests that you are a little uncertain of them.

Women: You are more permissive about the morals of others than you are about your own.

This combination represents 3% of total, 2% of men and 3% of women

Little John, The Sheriff, Robin Hood, Maid Marion

You are conventional, unimaginative, and something of a prude. It would be surprising if your love life was a roaring success.

Men: You have an old-world authoritarian attitude. One thing is sure: you have some sorry illusions about women.

Women: You accept a double standard of morality in which women are very much the"second sex."

This combination represents 1% of total, 1% of men and 1% of women

Maid Marion, Little John, Robin Hood, The Sheriff

We would expect you to be a happy, well-balanced person who likes people and isliked by others. You question whether many conventional views on morality are valid under all circumstances.

Men: Do we detect a sense of chivalry and idealism under the sophistication?

  • 7/31/2019 Psyche Tests

    15/42

Women: You will expect high standards from the men to whom you give your love.

This combination represents 13% of total, 13% of men and 12% of women

Maid Marion, Little John, The Sheriff, Robin Hood

You are essentially a contented person, even if you consider yourself a little superior. You are moral by your own standards, for you believe that morality is what best suits the occasion.

Men: You are sexually uninhibited, more romantic than you may appear, and more dependent on the approval of others than you care to admit.

Women: You like being a woman, you understand what love is, and frankly enjoy sex.

This combination represents 10% of total, 9% of men and 11% of women

Maid Marion, Robin Hood, Little John, The Sheriff

If you are not happy - and we suspect you are not - it maybe because you feel guilty about your own emotions, and lack confidence in your opinions.

Men: No doubt you consider yourself a moral man, and a fair one. Your fuzzy ideas about morality may make their mark on your sex life.

Women: You are too concerned about what others think.

This combination represents 4% of total, 4% of men and 4% of women

Maid Marion, Robin Hood, The Sheriff, Little John

You know the so-called facts of life, but not to enjoy life itself. You are nota realist and you are inclined to be stubborn.

Men: Women, you think, are either good or bad, and you overestimate the differences between the sexes. A woman may find you difficult to live with.

Women: You are not sure whether truth and morality go hand in hand or are in opposition. You don't hold a very high opinion of men.

This combination represents 1% of total, 2% of men and 1% of women

Maid Marion, The Sheriff, Little John, Robin Hood

Such an emphatic rejection of ready-made values is probably partly camouflage. You hate to be thought weak or insecure. You value honesty, and abhor hypocrisy.

Men: Women are very much part of you life, and you are - or perhaps would like to be - quite ruthless, both with women and life in general.

Women: You are tolerant about men and their failings - but we mean men, for you

You find it hard to accept the permissive attitudes of others, or to convince them of the validity of your own standards. You are not disposed to trust people.

Men: To you "love" involves sex and duty, rather than charity and forgiveness.

Women: You blame men for the problems in your life.

This combination represents 2% of total, 2% of men and 1% of women

Robin Hood, The Sheriff, Little John, Maid Marion

You have a very chauvinistic and outdated outlook on life. Your values and principles are defined not by clarity of conscience but by popular beliefs.
