For Voice and Data Pseudo-Wires, IP Aggregation, and Service Interworking Solutions Axerra Networks’ AXN100 is a powerful, compact (1RU), leading-edge Pseudo-Wire gateway, targeted for cost-effective integration of voice and data Pseudo-Wire services as well as IP aggregation and service interworking applications over IP, MPLS, and Carrier Ethernet networks. The AXN100 enables mobile wireless operators, cable MSOs, and competitive and incumbent service providers to open up new and immediate revenue opportunities by offering profitable traditional services such as T1/E1 private line and PBX voice backhaul, as well as advanced Ethernet services, to medium- and large-sized business customers, over packet-based access networks. The AXN100 Pseudo-Wire Gateway enables T1/E1 Circuit Emulation Service (CES) for leased line emulation; Dynamic Bandwidth CES for CAS/CCS-based voice backhaul, as well as Frame Relay (FR), HDLC, and Ethernet transport over packet- switched networks. In addition, the AXN100 platform also enables sophisticated aggregation and service interworking of IP- and Ethernet-aware layer-2 circuits into Fast or Gigabit Ethernet trunk interfaces for cost-effective integration with edge routers and switches. In a typical deployment scenario, the AXN100 is installed at aggregation PoPs, MSO head-ends, or cellular base station sites, and functions as a gateway between packet-based access networks such as Carrier Ethernet, cable HFC, xDSL, EPON/GPON, and fixed wireless, and legacy networks such as FR/ATM, Sonet/SDH, and PSTN. The AXN100 Pseudo-Wire Gateway is available with 8 or 16 T1/E1 ports plus 8 Fast Ethernet (FE) ports for subscribers’ LAN interfaces and Gigabit Ethernet for a network uplink interface. It is based on Axerra’s field-proven Multiservice over Packet (MSoP) technology and is fully interoperable with the other members of the AXN family: AXN1, AXN10, AXN800, and AXN1600, delivering the industry’s most scalable family of Pseudo-Wire gateways and access devices.
